I do not love the “encourage” but at least it’s not a mandate.
This feels a little like the COVID vaccine. Trump 1.0 created it and said, “It’s available if you want it” then Biden came in and said, “You must take it or I will ruin your life.”

I use a step counter and it works even with location “off”. To my knowledge everything stays on my phone and is not sent to the cloud.
Thats it...no other wearable, watch or any such.

Not a mandate - for now. A few short years ago you could not go out in public unless you were wearing a mask.
Well until insurance companies encourage you to wear it to get procedures approved. Or federal government says we encourage you to wear this to get social security and Medicare. It may not happen under this administration but down the line I easily could see this.
