ICE, FBI, local police breaking into a house 4 doors away, gossip is that it's an ICE raid. Walked by, told a local cop to stay safe, he said thanks. Farming community, LOTs of field workers here every year for over 100 years.

Renter has been there for a few years. Outside a lot but always avoids any eye or other contact when I walk by. He got into an argument with next-door neighbor a couple of years ago over a fence that brought the police out. Local gossip site mentions “human trafficking”.

It wasn’t implied ad hominem. The point was IMO pretty obvious. Why take offense — and then argue it further — when no offense was intended?
I didn’t talk to anyone other than a ‘local yokel’, they look rather serious. Several Govt plates two local cops hanging around not participating. Renter may be the same guy arrested 4 days ago on human trafficking charge.
