If Iran and Israel do stop firing, Trump's high-risk strikes may pay off

US President Donald Trump took a gamble by inserting the US into the worsening conflict between Israel and Iran, but it may have paid off - at least for now.

Trump announced on Monday evening that the two countries had agreed to a ceasefire that he said could lead to a lasting peace.

If the American president has in fact ended what he labelled the "12 Day War", it would make for a significant step back from the brink of a conflict that seemed on the verge of engulfing the region, along with pulling America further in after US airstrikes hit Iranian nuclear facilities on Saturday.

"Provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said in a statement, "we have no intention to continue our response afterwards."

The Israeli government later said it agreed to the proposal after "achieving the objectives" of its attacks on Iran.

Trump is offering both sides an “off-ramp”

Clever.

The difficulty is that Israel may have killed off enough of Iran’s leadership that there is no longer any central control over the IRGC, so like SS units after May 9, 1945, they keep fighting.

It all comes down to the image the two warring factions want POTUS Trump to have internationally. If the ceasefire holds and peace is attained, POTUS Trump looks incredibly strong.

Of course, if they do not like that particular look due to the weakened effect it has upon them, the war goes on.

If so, what will POTUS Trump do to protect the USA?

All HBM (Has Been Media) stories start with the premise of "Let's hate Trump".

Um, not.

He believes that he can negotiate with the Iranians. And the Israelis. Heh, they didn’t count on DJT to put an end to a glorious time for the Jewish state after decades of proxy war.

Foolish, in a word, unless he directs a campaign to undermine the theocracy, which right now is claiming credit for the cessation in attacks.

The logical question being, “Does what comes after the Ayatollah portend something better, or worse?”

The truth came out this week, in spite of the IC lies telegraphed by Gabbard: Iran had forsaken basic arms strategy in favor of terror weapons, even cutting corners on air defense.

They dumped the bulk of their non social budget into the nuclear program.

Again: “Terror weapons” mentality.

Has everyone forgotten that you can’t negotiate with terrorists?

I see few advantages to stopping aside from watching what the Iranians do next and rearming the IDF.
