I don't remember much from undergrad microbiology, but I do recall the "bug" that I was assigned to present to the class... Aspergillus Fumigatus. It's everywhere, and it's mean, and it's getting better at resisting the azole drugs that it is treated with, and before azole drugs, most treatments were almost as deadly as the bug!!

Wikipedia entry (with cite): "it is estimated that A. fumigatus may be responsible for over 600,000 deaths annually with a mortality rate between 25 and 90%"

Wow, they found a cancer cure in King Tut’s crip? Holy Cow as Harry would say! :-) Hey, if they find a cancer cure under a dead dog in the middle of the road, great! Anything to kill that scourge on mankind. I hate that stinking disease. It has killed too many of my family members over the years.

So now cancer deaths will be replaced by mummy curse deaths?

Back then they did not have classroom/on-line safety modules for Confined Spaces.

“Tomb Fungus” sounds like a character name in DC superhero comics
