Chicken Alfredo meals at Walmart and Kroger recalled after 3 deaths, 16 hospitalizations

Some ready-to-eat chicken fettuccine Alfredo meals are being voluntarily recalled by food manufacturer FreshRealm following a nationwide listeria outbreak linked to 17 illnesses and three deaths.

FreshRealm issued the recall Tuesday for refrigerated chicken fettuccine Alfredo meals sold nationwide at Kroger and Walmart stores under Marketside and Home Chef brand names, the U.S. Agriculture Department's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced.

The outbreak has been linked to three deaths, a pregnancy loss and 16 hospitalizations, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The deaths were reported in Illinois, Michigan and Texas.

Illness began between July 24, 2024, and May 10, with at least 17 people reporting illnesses across 13 states, according to the agencies.

Companies quality control has gone down the shitter. Trying to make more money by cutting costs. Also transport and storage temperatuures all have to be adequate.Obviously, they are cutting corners with that too.
Also, the freezer temps at WM, etc. must be substandard also.
Blame it all on cost cutting by greedy companis and retail.
There’s no excuse for it.

I make keto alfredo sauce and use keto noodles, or use it as a sauce on keto pizza or keto casseroles.

It’s perfectly healthy. I’m not afraid of fat. It’s carbs that kill you.

I have been using them for a few years. If You want to add the meat and or veggies of your choice. Of course adding some fresh cheese never hurts. There's a few I've never tried here.

I’m pretty simple with cheese. Cheddar, America, swiss, mozzarella, Romano and parmesan is about it.
