You can receive blood from any racial group with matching blood type. Every race has the same blood types A, B, O+ O- etc. My blood type is universal donor. My blood can be used by every one if the 8 Billion humans on earth.

If they did list the different European nationalities separately I could check several, but would probably go with my paternal ancestry. In 2000, I think it was, the US Census asked a certain number of people additional questions including ethnic origin, and I got one of those census forms. I happen to know where my paternal ancestors came from (and have visited the village where they lived) but a lot of Americans are hazy about their ancestry unless they have an obviously recognizable Irish, Italian, Greek, Polish, German or French name.

Even then many people have mixed ancestry--I know someone who is half Greek and half Italian. (His father's Greek relatives were not happy with him marrying an Italian-American woman, since Italy attacked Greece in WWII.)

There was a commercial which used to air on TV several years ago featuring a father and son who thought they were Norwegian so they visited Norway and were having a great time until they found out that they were really Swedish.
