Iran has further increased its stockpile of uranium enriched to near weapons-grade levels, a confidential report by the U.N. nuclear watchdog said Saturday. In a separate report, the agency called on Tehran to urgently change course and comply with its years-long probe.
The report comes at a sensitive time, as the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump seeks to reach a deal with Tehran to limit its nuclear program. The two sides have held several rounds of talks, so far without agreement.
The report by the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency — which was seen by The Associated Press — says that as of May 17, Iran has amassed 408.6 kilograms (900.8 pounds) of uranium enriched up to 60%.
That’s an increase of 133.8 kilograms (294.9 pounds) — or almost 50% — since the IAEA’s last report in February. The 60% enriched material is a short, technical step away from weapons-grade levels of 90%. A report in February put this stockpile level at 274.8 kilograms (605.8 pounds).
The IAEA report raised a stern warning, saying that Iran is now “the only non-nuclear-weapon state to produce such material” — something the agency said was of “serious concern.”

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Maybe they already have a bomb?
(Maybe they already have a bomb?)
According to America patriot Tulsi Gabbard, they don’t!
Well, there’s always what you know you know, what you know you don’t know...and what you don’t know you don’t know.
Gotta make sure Saddam doesn’t have WMD’s, guess we need to spend trillions to intervene.
Did the uranium come from Jeffery city wyoming?
Hillary and Obama wanna know
Have they tested one? Even North Korea has done extensive testing with their nukes. Not Iran though, apparently they are going to whip up a bomb in a few hours and the first one is going to be a real zinger!
So if the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency isn’t to be believed, and you don’t want to believe the constant open threats of the mullahs, are you waiting to see millions killed in a nuclear attack before you wake up? What would it take?
Worrying, if true. Didn’t Saddam have a stockpile of chemical weapons according to these people?
If all they want to do is nuke Chicago then maybe we should wait and see it they really go through with it.
I don’t think so. If I recall correctly he only got as far as yellow-cake and rudimentary centrifuges.
The poison gas though. Very real. He used mustard gas on the Iranians and nerve gas on the Kurds.

“Didn’t Saddam have a stockpile of chemical weapons according to these people?”
He did have some, but they weren’t maintained and had degraded into an environmental nightmare. He also had enough nuclear material for multiple dirty bombs. We flew that out of there.
In reality one situation tells us nothing about the other.
Iran will probably use a North Korean design I think. They have a history of working together.
“HOW FAR HAS IRAN GOT?
“The exact status of various Iranian nuclear facilities and material since Israel’s strikes is unclear.
“At least until Israel’s attacks, Iran was enriching uranium to up to 60% purity and had enough material at that level for nine nuclear weapons if enriched further, according to a theoretical IAEA yardstick.
“That means Iran’s so-called “breakout time” - the time it would need to produce enough weapons-grade uranium for a nuclear bomb - was close to zero, likely a matter of days or little more than a week, analysts say.
“Iran had three operating enrichment facilities: an above-ground plant and a larger, underground one at its Natanz complex and another buried inside a mountain at Fordow.
“Only Fordow appears to have been spared damage, the IAEA has said. The above-ground plant has been destroyed and the underground one at Natanz has likely had its uranium-enriching centrifuges badly damaged or destroyed, IAEA chief Rafael Grossi has said.
“That will have lengthened its breakout time at least somewhat because far fewer centrifuges if any are operating. The status of its stock of enriched uranium is also unclear.
“HOW FAST COULD IRAN SPRINT TO A BOMB?
“Aside from uranium enrichment, there is the question of how long it would take Iran to produce the rest of a nuclear weapon and possibly make it small enough to put in a delivery system like a ballistic missile, should it choose to. This is much harder to estimate as it is less clear how much knowledge Iran has.”
“Estimates of how long Iran would need for weaponisation generally vary between months and about a year.”

If the UN says it...
To be sure, we did wipe out a Japanese city with an untested, unproven uranium device.
I have a question I have been wondering about for a long time.
Why doesn’t Iran have nuclear weapons already.
The Manhattan Project started from scratch and manged to build a workable bomb in just a few years. The information on how a nuclear bomb works and how to build one has been around for decades. So why after 50 years we assume they don’t already have the bomb?
when Sadam got wind of the invasion months early a long line of semis and trucks were spotted by satellite enroute to Syria for storage sites WMDs or sand who knows.
