Caitlin Clark was in the middle of a fiery scene between the Fever and Sun on Tuesday night.
Clark, while dribbling with the ball in the offensive end of the court during the third quarter of Indiana’s 88-71 win at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, was fouled near the right eye by Jacy Sheldon.
The Indiana star took exception and bumped and shoved Sheldon.
That’s when the Sun came to the defense of Sheldon, with Tina Charles coming close to Clark and wagging her index finger, while Marina Mabrey was more physical, pushing Clark to the ground.
After all was said and done, Clark, Mabrey and Charles were all assessed technical fouls and Sheldon was handed a flagrant 1.
Clark hit both flagrant free throws as she finished the game with 20 points and six assists.

Now, if the WNBA would like to follow NHL rules, maybe they could put something in place to settle fights at mid-court.
And, finally - part of the reason the league might want to keep this tough-girl thing going is that the only time I hear about girl basketball is when Caitlan Clark gets rough fouled. Any publicity is good publicity?
Jackie Robinson had better treatment. Caitlin Clark is currently getting beaten up.
Only watching is the clips of the attacks, that’s what they are. So question, which company wants their name associated with Thug Ball? I cannot see any longterm sponsorship or advertising with the WNBA with it current state of play.
If Clark gets a long-lasting injury, the WNBA is finished. Right now, I think they’re leaning into racial conflict, thinking it will help make people give a damn.
There was lots of grabbing and tussling in the old women’s Roller Derby. A TV staple until the 1980s or so. The WNBA can try this too.
That does seem to be the dynamic. Pulls eyeballs from indignant whites and vicariously satisfied blacks?
Because certain people are angry that a white girl is that good at basketball. It’s disgusting.
Jaci and CC have history. (OSU vs Iowa B1G rivalry) I have not forgotten the technical foul CC got on Cotie McMahon with a fake flop LeBron would be proud of.
The Fever need to sign a female player reminiscent of Bob Probert. That would put an end to this nonsense real fast.
To go way back in basketball history, Clark needs a Jim Luscutoff off the bench.
Because the participants tend to be attractive. Who wants to watch a bunch of ugly thug lesbians?

Three female refs for the game as well. Took forever to figure things out. Needed at least one male ref, IMO. Crowd was very vocal in showing their displeasure for the game delay. I would have booed too.
I agree. I think it is unwatchable except for her.

Potentially, the league will become profitable with Caitlin Clark.

Caitlin Clark is a damn fine basketball player and talent. The two-bit ‘nappy-headed hoes’ can’t compete and it’s pissing them off.

it is interesting because the WNBA seem unwilling or unable to stop the violent play.
Is it because they would have a revolt if they discipline the black players? Or perhaps they think it boosts ratings like hockey fights?
And yet it's not an issue in the NFL or the NBA.
Especially because some of the WNBA players are guys like BG.
