SWIFT JUSTICE: Bystander Tackles Rioter Who Threw Bottle at Officer in Los Angeles. [video]

UPDATE: The guy he took down was pulling a gun from inside his pants. The gun went flying when he was hit. We didn't notice until it was pointed out. Watch the gun slide across the ground. This guy saved a cop's life—if not more.

I saw the video yesterday, but did not see the gun until I looked for it just now.

The Steelers could use him at linebacker.

Rioter with a gun… someone’s going to jail.

And given that this happened in Los Angeles, that someone could be the Good Samaritan. After all, the DA can charge him with using excessive force. It’s “see something, say something” - not “see something, do something”.

(Just kidding…maybe.)

In that cesspool, they’ll probably charge the tackler with assault and battery, dox his family and get him fired from his job.

He obviously has played football with that tackle.

Proper use of shoulder and wrapped him up. No 15 yards for "spearing" either. (back in 1968 when I played, it was head in the numbers/step on the toes. That might explain my neck problems today!)

It wasn’t a gun, but a set of keys. I don’t have facebook, but the video is all over X. Good takedown.

That was a plain clothes cop working the crowd.

I DO NOT LIKE the way the cops treated their benefactor. Watch the video carefully ... shoved him back into the hostile crowd.

If he was undercover, that was for his protection so as not to identify him as cooperating with police.

If he was undercover

Yes ... that makes sense. If he was a private citizen bystander, they endangered him. Should have shuffled him off in some other direction.

Nice hit.

The guy’s head bounced on the ground.

Too bad, so sad.
