Sad, I grew-up in the early 1960’s Beach Boys era, Brian was an outstanding although troubled musical genius, RIP.

Musical genius. God Only Knows.

Pet Sounds influenced a lot of musicians and engineers.

He sure had some great hits and was quite the influence. I used to enjoy the Summer BB concerts in the Saratoga NY area. They would often go golfing at Saratoga Spa Park Golf course before their concerts.

Great music.
And a very troubled mind.
IMO, a lot of it had to do with the father.

I was going through my wife's things a couple weeks ago (she passed in February) and I found carefully folded at the bottom of one the drawers, a concert t-shirt Brian had signed for her long ago.
She would be heartbroken, she was a big Beach Boys fan.

RIP, Brian. Lots of memories.

Sad indeed. Great, fun music. He seemed to be an honest , and very talented musician. From what I read, Paul McCartney said that much of Sargent Pepper album musical experimentation was inspired by the Beach Boys album “Pet Sounds”
