Country singer Conner Smith allegedly struck and killed an elderly pedestrian while behind the wheel of his truck.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department conducted a preliminary investigation that suggested Smith was behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck June 8. Police allege he struck 77-year-old local resident Dorothy Dobbins at approximately 7:30 p.m. in a press release posted June 9. Dobbins was crossing the street inside of a marked crosswalk when she was struck, according to authorities.
Dobbins was rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center after she was struck by the vehicle.
Despite the best efforts of medical staff, she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The exact nature of Dobbins’ injuries have not been publicly disclosed.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department noted the preliminary contributing factor for this crash appeared to be Smith failing to yield the right of way to the pedestrian.

“He showed no signs of impairment. There are no charges at present as the investigation continues,” the press release reads.
Smith’s attorney issued a statement confirming the country music singer was “involved in a car accident that tragically claimed a life,” according to People.
“His heart goes out to Ms. Dobbins’ family during this incredibly difficult time,” the statement said.
“Mr. Smith continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.”
Smith debuted his first album, “Smoky Mountains,” in 2024 and opened for Luke Bryan on tour. Smith was nominated for New Male Artist of the Year at the 2024 American Country Music Awards.
I was in a large hospital today with plenty of signage. A middle-aged white woman reeking of marihuana got into the elevator with me and asked which floor the parking garage was on. She was in the wrong building to go there. She’d already made several elevator trips trying to find the garage. I walked her all the way to the correct elevator bank. An hour later when I left, she was walking the lot with her key fob trying to find her car.
People like that, stoned on their ass, are out on the roads. When I’m walking anywhere near cars my head is on a swivel. Isn’t legalized marihuana just great?
Another bro country douche...
Incredibly sad. My prayers are with everyone involved.
I can name every counter star from the 50s up to the 80s. I have no idea who this guy is.
What the hell does anything you just typed have to do with this? What does a high person in an elevator have to do with any elderly woman being run down in CROSSWALK?
Because people are not paying attention to their surroundings. Out of curiosity, why are you so angry?
There’s something I wouldn’t want to live with the rest of my days.
And that's not counting the horrific drivers who are sober.
To quote a former President, don't get all weed-weed up.
Seriously, I used to assume that everyone else on the road was drunk. I now assume that everyone else on the road is either stoned or incapable of reading signs in English, regardless of the size of the vehicle.
Having said that, there were 65 DUI arrests in our county last month, five of whom were illegal aliens.
I'd be hard pressed to come up with a dozen names. And if you showed me pictures about the only ones I could identify are Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. And a few females like Dolly Parton, Reba McIntire and Carrie Underwood.
Clearly tells you who is REALLY in CHARGE!
Or you could be responsible like us in Florida who voted recreational marijuana down!!!!!
Break out old sparky and fry his ass!
Was he chatting on his phone at the time? Amazing what you can miss seeing when you’re doing that.
And the idiots with their faces in their phones.

My favorite country western star is Vernon Dalhart, from the 1920s. I also like Bill Boyd, Bob Wills, Smokey Wood, Cliff Bruner, Ted Daffan, Texas Jim Robertson, Eddie Dean, Charline Arthur, Kitty Wells, Ray Anderson, and many others from the 1930s-1950s. I know a few names from the 1970s-1990s, but I can't name any CW artists from this century.
