Rand says border wall funding is EXCESSIVE and provides examples!
X ^ | June 9 | Sen. Rand Paul

Posted on 06/09/2025 11:37:52 AM PDT by RandFan

@RandPaul

We can cut the proposed border funding in half, from $150 billion to $75 billion, and still secure our border and protect the American people.

Let me give you an example of how this is excessive. Let’s take the proposed border wall.

Proposed fence cost: $46.5 billion

Actual fence cost: $6.5 billion

How did I come up with that number? Math based on costs, according to Border Patrol.

$6.5 million per mile x 1,000 miles of border wall = $6.5 billion

Where is that extra $40 billion going?

I’m all for hiring new people to help secure our borders, but we don’t need it to the extent that’s in this bill, especially when our border is largely contained.

We have to remember that every person we hire comes with added costs: health care benefits, pension benefits, the list goes on.

Don’t fall for the Swamp’s version of reality, where they claim we either borrow against our future to secure our border now, or we have wide-open borders. We can have BOTH border security AND fiscal responsibility. $75 billion is more than enough to accomplish both

He's right of course and the swamps minions have been attacking Rand non-stop on here either taking comments out of context or dredging up old articles all because he is opposing Trump on the OBBB and a thorn in the side.

Please just go to his official twitter/X page and you'll see the truth.

rand paul would want open borders and illegal aliens to flood the country even more than the left does...

because, at this point, he’s going to say anything he thinks will improve his chances of winning the 2028 presidential campaign at this point.

“$6.5 million per mile x 1,000 miles of border wall = $6.5 billion”

OK break that down into material cost and labor cost. And does this jive with the cost of the previous Trump sponsored wall construction?

Libertarians always supported open borders since it drives down wages

I’m not a minion of anything. We have one president at a time. Rand is entitled to his opinion.

So the moron once again wants to block the first bill in history to reduce spending by over a trillion dollars, because he found 75 billion that could possibly also be deducted. Unreal.

How much do 30 million criminal invaders cost, in terms of healthcare, education, crime, etc.?

The wall should have gun turrets.

We already know what rand paul’s stance on many things are...

because he stated his positions the last time he ran for president...

open borders for those that want to come to this country...
states to allow freedom of choice for people to use marijuanna...
advocacy of pro minority recruitment and hiring...

The trouble with the previous Trump sponsored wall construction was that the next (supposed) President felt he could dismantle it and throw it away. What Congress does now needs to account for the willingness of a future POTUS to do the same.

The wall has to be mandated by Congress and it has to be expensive enough that it is viewed as a national asset that can no more be singlehandedly dismantled by any POTUS than the Hoover Dam or Mount Rushmore can be.

And the reason there needs to be a wall at all is because a wall can’t just be executive-action’ed out of existence. We’ve seen that the same laws can result in what Biden did or what Trump did. Laws don’t mean a thing when you’ve got traitors trying to sell this country down the drain. A physical barrier that forces people to come in the right way is an absolute necessity so that what Biden did to us can never happen again. This is an investment in the actual survival of the country.

Cheaper than 650 billion given in services to illegal non-citizens.

But Rand’s worshippers are too stupid to understand that.

Let’s start with the walls estimated cost is between $6.5 million and $20 million a mile. That’s materials. It doesn’t include supporting infrastructure. Then you are going to have change orders as well as purchasing private land to support construction. This doesn’t include issues that arise from environmental factors. You will also have to expand detention facilities. $6.5 million a mile is a best are scenario pipe dream.

Where is that extra $40 billion going?

Roads, various motion sensors, cameras, etc. The border wall is not just the wall material itself.

Of course an idiot open borders Libertarian would say that.

That is why Libertarians should NOT be in the same party as Republicans.

Stick to your own party, and then that would be less 5h1t in the Republican party (less RINOs).

No matter how much Rand crap you post here, it will not win over the hearts and minds of Republican FReepers.
All it does is irritate the crap out of them.

Like the border between North and South Korea - remotely controlled quad .50 cals with overlapping fields of fire. Sea going crocodiles in moat is extra.
