Ukraine says it shot down Russian Su-35 fighter jet

Ukraine's air forces shot down a Russian Su-35 fighter jet on Saturday morning, the Ukrainian military said.
"This morning, on June 7, 2025, as a result of a successful Air Force operation in the Kursk direction, a Russian Su-35 fighter jet was shot down," the military said on the Telegram messenger.
It gave no more details. Russian forces have not yet commented on the matter while Reuters could not independently verify the report.

Russia has been using their now endangered strategic bombers to launch glide bombs and cruise missiles at Ukraine. The anticipated Russian summer offensive may be a last gasp effort due to Russia's declining supplies of war material, increasing economic and financial strain, and the deterioration of their transportation system.
My guess is that Putin will be out by the end of the year if the summer offensive fails. If so, a new Russian government will need to make peace on terms generous to Ukraine in return for sanctions relief and getting the hundred billion dollars or so that it will take to save their rail system and federation from collapse. If not, the Chinese may prefer to grab Vladivostok to trying for Taiwan.
