Rand Paul sit down interview (30 minutes)

He's making dire warnings and predictions. Very stark.

Touting his Penny Plan. Deficit's of 2 trillion are unsustainable.

He responds to 'mean tweets' from Miller..

The problem is that the every Democrat will vote against anything that is put out there, so it’s a matter of getting enough Republicans to go along, you might as well be herding cats.

“...that could...”

That’s a pretty big “could”.

Not exactly a “will” though, Doc.

Why does Rand refuse to acknowledge the spending cuts in the bill as well as the revenue from tariffs. Its a big picture thing.

He addresses it... Says they’re outweighed by other stuff and still deficits are large .

I’m nearly finished I might get CHatGPT to transcribe it

Income tax bracket inflation adjustment might not be fully done if the previous fiscal year ended in a deficit in excess of $1 trillion. If the deficit is $1.4 trillion, the adjustment would be reduced 40%.

Politicians like Rand Paul who believe all this nation's financial woes can be solved quickly are living in a fantasy world.

The Penny Plan sounds great, but it could never get enough votes in the current Congress.

The reality of politics is you take what you can get when you can get it (even if it is small) and start working to get more at the next opportunity.

The overtime tax exemption is unfair to 50-hour/week salaried workers and should be dropped.

There’s no reason Mr. Salaryman should pay more tax than Mr. Clockpuncher does on the same income.

Larry Kudlow and Trump are one.

On the need for the BBB as currently constituted.

Trump knows from prior experience that if he doesn’t prioritize the economy-juicing tax cuts, economic recovery slows, and the forecast for next year’s midterms instantly becomes dark and cloudy.

Trump is just as big a spending hawk as Rand, and Rand knows it!

It’s just that Trump is currently running the entire country, and Rand, his offices in D.C. and Kentucky, and his re-election project, only.

Rand can afford to be a blowhard and is arguably very lucky Trump basically likes him.

Well, Paul does have a point. You don’t get out of the level of debt we have via some law. Any law. You get out of it by eliminating the debt and then going to war with the debtors.

But you want to stave it off as long as possible. I figure we have a few more years. More than one but less than ten.

So don't pass the bill and we go bankrupt but the Dems can't blame us, or pass the bill and we go bankrupt, and the Dems can blame us ?

Sometimes I. Think I a, the only one who ever heard of the Lenny plan. The Stupid Party should win the award for the least effect organization on the planet lacking communication skills. Senators get up in front of of an EMPTY chamber and drone on for 45 minutes and no one has heard a word. It takes a special kid of stupid to be a Republican lawmaker. (Ted Cruz loves his adolescent little flip charts.) These assholes never heard of computers and PowerPoint. Lawyers just get paid by the word… whether hear or not.

Trump is a lot of good things, but he is absolutely NOT a spending hawk.
