June 3 (UPI) -- Authorities in Michigan said an opossum was rescued from the Mackinac Bridge, the 5-mile bridge connecting the state's two peninsulas.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority said on social media that the opossum was spotted on the bridge May 29, prompting a response from bridge staff and the Mackinac County Sheriff's Office.

The Whites lived on the road at the top of the hill before at the bottom of the hill the old dirt antebellum carriage lane turned off on the left. About 300 yards down the carriage lane was our front pasture on the right. Glenn White had beagles and they were always running rabbits.
Good eating. Tasted like chicken but the legs were smaller.
A possum was on a bridge today. In other news, a bird flew over a man’s house today, and a bear sh#t in the woods.

I think they’re cute in an odd way. When we fed feral cats on our screen porch sometimes ‘possums would eat the kibble.
Then we had the cats “fixed”, and made them 100% house cats. No more ‘possums or raccoons.
