President Trump slammed conservative Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on Tuesday for pledging to vote against his “big, beautiful bill”, accusing the Kentucky lawmaker of voting “NO on everything” and “never” having “practical or constructive ideas.”
Paul said he could vote for the 1,116-page budget reconciliation bill that passed out of the House last month if it didn’t include language to raise the federal debt ceiling by $4 trillion.
Paul’s comments sparked Trump to fire back on social media, accusing Paul of having “crazy” ideas.
“Rand votes NO on everything, but never has any practical or constructive ideas. His ideas are actually crazy (losers!). The people of Kentucky can’t stand him. This is a BIG GROWTH BILL!” Trump posted on Truth Social, his social media platform.
In a separate post, Trump declared Paul has “very little understanding” of the bill and doesn’t grasp “the tremendous GROWTH” it would unleash from the economy.
“Rand Paul has very little understanding of the BBB, especially the tremendous GROWTH that is coming. He loves voting ‘NO’ on everything, the thinks it’s good politics but it’s not,” Trump wrote.
“The BBB is a big WINNER!!” he wrote.

Passions are running high on both sides and it must be very close in the Senate
Ron Johnson and Rick Scott are also against the bill in current form.
Wacko bird moment?
Rand Paul is a curly headed guy (fk) who seems to be reasoned and thoughtful, but he’s just another bought and paid for criminal who by his lack of ideas reveals his anti-American dirt ball agenda.
In Washington, saying no is usually the most constructive thing to do.
Wow a reasoned post on this topic.
Sobering......
Rand comes across as an egotistical jag
May as well vote for it, Rand. The country is going to go broke anyway so you might as well show some solidarity behind the President for a change.
Paul admitted that this bill does not increase the debt ...
“In Washington, saying no is usually the most constructive thing to do.”
Absolutely. This is being sold as the greatest thing since sliced bread. It is a lemon, too many things in it we should NOT pass...
Wha...wha...what? You mean Paul will never (in a million years) lead the Senate to a better alternative solution?
He’s largely right, but being right isn’t going to fix anything.
OTOH, the other side is fixing nothing, either.
(It can’t be fixed. The numbers are relentless and crushing. Any fix requires total upheaval of US society, and the entire world’s.)
But Rand Paul always lacks that better idea part of the equation. In fact, part of the process is for him to present that better idea while the Senate has the bill in their chamber of Congress. So, you & Massie and any others that have issue with, provide Trump the authority to spend less and return money not spent back to the Treasury.
Trump would be delighted with that inclusion into the even better and more beautiful in the Big Beautiful Bill.
It is an extremist cult. If you disagree with Trump at all period you are a Satanist.
“might as well show some solidarity behind the President for a change”
That’s not his style....from what I’ve seen he’d rather disagree with the majority so the lib media can continue to call him “the firebrand senator from Kentucky”.
Thankfully there is someone in the US Senate who is concerned about the huge, unsustainable, debilitating national debt. Debt destroys institutions and even nations.
What does Rand want to adjust or change?
Who is PAYING Paul? He is a politician and therefore is BOUGHT AND PAID FOR.
“What CAN we do when there are a quorum of RINO congressmen who will let the tax cuts expire rather than not get their way on spending?”
Shut it all down and send them all home for a long vacation. No government is better than what they are giving us. Which is NOTHING anyhow. What are we truly going to lose? Give Trump the opportunity to govern while they are absent and powerless.
