TV commercials are making me uncomfortable in my easy chair
American Thinker ^ | 2 Jun, 2025 | Ned Cosby

It’s baaaaaaccccckkkkk! What am I talking about? Woke Subliminal advertising keeps trying to socially engineer the land of the free and the home of the unsuspecting (brave). What is subliminal advertising?

According to Google’s AI, subliminal advertising is a technique where marketers use visual or auditory stimuli that are below the conscious threshold of perception to influence consumer behavior. It’s designed to subtly affect attitudes and desires without the consumer being aware they’re being manipulated.

In addition to being heavier than I should be at 71, I am too cheap to pay Amazon Prime to eliminate commercials. Their commercials are annoying, and I suspect they are trying to make me feel guilty for marrying a woman of my own race.

I love my wife, and I am glad I married her. As I watch their commercials, however, nearly all families in America are mixed race. When I look at my wife and then look at the wives on TV, a dissonance develops in my brain. Questions develop in my gray matter that ask: Why doesn’t my wife look like the wives on the commercials, or why doesn’t my family look like the commercial families?

Like most law-abiding citizens, I get bothered when someone suggests I did something wrong. Like most contrarians, I grow weary of the strict demands of peer pressure.

The wokesters out there are not going away. To be sure, they took a hit with the second election of Donald Trump in 2024, but they are fighting for their vision of what this country should be as much as we are fighting to Make America Great Again. They still have major pieces on this chessboard from sea to shining sea.

Fortunately for us, they still cling to their wildly unpopular woke ideas...

My tv hangs on the wall unused for several years, I read instead and don’t miss the trash on tv at all. Of coarse you have to be careful when reading.

The mixed race couples on television do not disturb me. What I do not like are the commercials with fat people running around and dancing. Even though I am fat, it bothers me seeing fat people in the commercials. Also, the insidious and sneaky way they promote the homosexual and trans couples.

I pretty much just watch stuff on YouTube, I have no need for the networks.

It’s true that blacks are all beautiful and classy and living in gorgeous suburban homes now, according to the commercials. But the problem is, they’re constantly being robbed by white male burglars in masks, and they have to keep calling the home security companies. And their white neighbors are bumbling, nosy idiots who buy the wrong products and are constantly messing up. That’s GOT to be annoying.

Their commercials are annoying,

I have Verizon FIOS. It is very easy to record programs. I record them and play back at my leisure.
Then, when playing I can FAST FORWARD the commercials and other annoying stuff.

The commercials I hate are:
"1-877-Kars for Kids"
Cat food, "he loves the box too"
All the medicine commercials: Jardience,Vanap, ...
Car commercials

I love FAST FORWARD!

yuck with the white woman/black man ads but i’d rather see that then the 2 queers out walking their poor little dog, grateful for their HIV meds.
Please make that shit stop! Now that it’s June we are slammed with Queers Rule propaganda.

If the inhabitants of some distant alien planet depended solely upon transmission of our tv commercials for their knowledge of Earth, they would believe that the United States is 80% black men, 40% the white women they’re hooked up with, 20% gay, and the rest “other”.

If you’re using your phone, use brave browser. If you’re using a PC, use Adblock. I never see advertisers on YouTube.

The Despot of Antrim nails it in his “British Ads Are Dystopian Propaganda” vid.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26mLdpZWwpY

It’s interesting viewing while YT keeps popping up ads confirming his points.

Frankly I’d like to see more of us on Blue sky.

You mean they (Blue sky) actually permit non-commie opinions to be posted?

Quit watching TV!

I took TV out of the house in 1991 when one of our sons was born and never looked back. My thought process is so different than the process of most other people that I am like an alien to them.

I hardly ever buy anything based on advertising, so even though I notice what the writer mentions, it doesn’t have much impact on me.

I was in Target the other day for the first time in years. On the posters in the clothing section they have pictures of models with different body types, one swimsuit model with stunningly bad teeth, a black guy in a wheelchair. Some of the headless mannequins gave me a chuckle: a dumpy, bosomy one next to a svelte one. I get that they are trying to be “inclusive”, but it’s a bit heavy-handed. Most of us have figured out that we are not physically-perfect specimens of humanity, but have somehow managed to live with that.

To: alternatives?

I am not uncomfortable with any pair. ALWAYS calculating which one I need to shoot first. Literally.

“It’s not just Amazon Prime. I watch a lot of videos on YouTube, and they’re awful.”

That’s true. YouTube is awful. Most streaming has tons of ads. The thing is that back when we signed up for Amazon Prime the big draw was “100% commercial free”. Bait and switch.

Watched Band of Brothers on BBC, channel 264, a few days ago. EVERY COMMERCIAL BREAK included homosexual propaganda.

Not doin’ it. We already pay too much for entertainment.

The ads a long enough for a decent bathroom break.

It is worth every penny to pay for the ad free versions of streaming services.

I had to just turn it off because the commercials were full of unwanted commentary on culture. It was a TMI moment! Why do Dude Wipes need to be advertised on the evening news? We were watching during supper one evening. Is it natural for a man to drop his drawers in public?
