TV commercials are making me uncomfortable in my easy chair

It’s baaaaaaccccckkkkk! What am I talking about? Woke Subliminal advertising keeps trying to socially engineer the land of the free and the home of the unsuspecting (brave). What is subliminal advertising?

According to Google’s AI, subliminal advertising is a technique where marketers use visual or auditory stimuli that are below the conscious threshold of perception to influence consumer behavior. It’s designed to subtly affect attitudes and desires without the consumer being aware they’re being manipulated.

In addition to being heavier than I should be at 71, I am too cheap to pay Amazon Prime to eliminate commercials. Their commercials are annoying, and I suspect they are trying to make me feel guilty for marrying a woman of my own race.

I love my wife, and I am glad I married her. As I watch their commercials, however, nearly all families in America are mixed race. When I look at my wife and then look at the wives on TV, a dissonance develops in my brain. Questions develop in my gray matter that ask: Why doesn’t my wife look like the wives on the commercials, or why doesn’t my family look like the commercial families?

Like most law-abiding citizens, I get bothered when someone suggests I did something wrong. Like most contrarians, I grow weary of the strict demands of peer pressure.

The wokesters out there are not going away. To be sure, they took a hit with the second election of Donald Trump in 2024, but they are fighting for their vision of what this country should be as much as we are fighting to Make America Great Again. They still have major pieces on this chessboard from sea to shining sea.

Fortunately for us, they still cling to their wildly unpopular woke ideas...

For me, the goal should always be color-blindness. But I know we cannot - and should not, be culturally blind.

That’s ancient history. Amazon Prime now has commercials. Not a lot, but they were added about a year ago. First set of ads is about 2-3 minutes before the show begins. Then there’s another set about halfway through, also about 2-3 minutes.

In one of PDJT’s post-election speeches, he made mention of this issue in passing, IIRC. Something like we’ll be seeing white people in commercials again.

IMHO, ads with things like mixed-race aren’t meant to encourage interracial marriages and such. They’re meant to subliminally tell the millennial customers that their products are part of their generation’s new cool. The marketers are trying to brand their products with generational loyalty among the generation that’s old enough to be making money, yet young enough to be around for decades.

Actually, now, they are so firm in their convictions of victory that they don’t really bother anymore with the “below the conscious threshold” anymore.

The white man is always the stupid one, the clown or idiot—and the black woman is always the wise, intelligent professional.

There is absolutely no way in the world commercials would ever show the reverse!

A few years ago, I watched a panel discussion with a “Mad man” participating, and this was a topic.

He said that white people are basically color blind and will buy stuff if blacks are in commercials. Conversely, black people are put off by white folk in commercials and tend to NOT buy the product.

So I guess he’s telling the world who the racists REALLY are.

For me, when I see a commercial with 95%-100% non-white models, I call the company (if there’s a number) and scream that I want to see some blue eyes before I buy their product.

It’s a virtue signal. The problem was that liberals wanted to show white women with black men but black women objected. Having a white man with a black woman makes the white man the source of the virtue which the liberals don’t want. So it’s a conundrum.

It was explained to me that advertisers demand diversity in their ads. If only two people are in the ad, one has to be diverse. It is purely stupid.

This actually precedes the woke bit.

If a business advertises exclusively with white people they can find themselves in federal court facing discrimination charges.

Hence the mix wherever possible.

It’s not just Amazon Prime. I watch a lot of videos on YouTube, and they’re awful. It’s not just the “woke”, but the frequency- most videos have commercials in front of the content m and break in during scenes, or in the middle of a musical number, TOTALLY wrecking the mood of the piece, just for dollars.

Commercial content is totally out of control.

I watch YouTube, but not the pay version- too expensive, so I am forced to swallow the commercial content. It’s ridiculous.

TV ads are designed for an audience with an average IQ of about 90.

Look at the racial/ethnic composition of the people in these ads to get a good idea of what the advertisers think of their customers.
