Vladimir Putin poised to enact revenge on Ukraine and AXE Russian spymasters after devastating bombers strike

Vladimir Putin is set to dismiss his intelligence chiefs following a catastrophic security breach, which led to Ukraine taking out 41 aircraft worth £1.5billion across multiple airbases.

The Russian leader has been conspicuously absent from public view since Ukraine's successful strikes, with an insider revealing: "He will hit back at Ukraine, but also avenge his underlings who allowed this humiliation to happen."

The FSB security service, led by Putin's close ally Alexander Bortnikov, 73, faces particular scrutiny over the intelligence failure, which led to 117 first-person view kamikaze drones carrying out the daring attack.

Civilian lorries were able to carry the disguised weapons 2,500 miles from Ukraine to strike five separate airfields stretching from northern Russia to Siberia.

Russia has had serious intelligence failures since the beginning of the war.

The Russian intelligence is it would be a cake-walk.

Firing a bunch of intelligence leaders does not mean you will get a better bunch.

They’re going to have to stop leaving the few they have left out in the rain.

The old concepts of drone-carrier aircraft are looking pretty prescient these days - wonder how many varieties have been tested at Groom Lake?

Ukraine pulled off a near Pearl Harbor level sneak attack, but will pay for their boldness. Putin will deliver a punishing revenge and chances for a cease fire or resolution of the war are now greatly diminished.

Ukraine has pulled off a series of these “sneak attacks”.

In war, surprise is a force multiplier. Russia has to worry about what Ukraine is up to next. Russia has to wonder if Ukraine has been able to make a few nukes. Ukraine has the talent and tech to do it. They have had very strong incentives to do it for three years.

They used to have nukes inherited from the Soviets. They gave them up with assurances their borders would be respected.

Putin is more likely to make a deal now.

Previously, Ukraine was on the retreat. Trump told Zelensky that he did not have the "cards".

Well, now Ukraine can go after strategic military resources in Russia that will affect their ability to wage war.

I agree. These drone attacks are a more like threat than missiles coming down from space.

Terrorists can figure out how to use drones. And what about the security of baseball parks, football stadiums, etc.?

Terrorists can do a lot of damage with drones.

I figure China is secretly building a million drones.

Secretly?

They're selling them openly everywhere - and gaining constant knowledge and feedback on how to produce constantly improved versions, enmasse.

I'm certain Putin is boiling mad and eager for revenge.

Setting that aside, can the Russians be sure the Ukrainians don't have more weapons tucked away inside Russia waiting to be launched in second or third wave?

If Putin goes harder after enemy civilians, the Ukes may go after targets in Moscow itself. The day before yesterday that seemed unlikely; now, who knows?

I mean a lot more military drones than we know they have.

I sure hope we are building a lot.

One less Tupolev long range bomber on the planet is a good thing.
