I had a good 'greens season' as we had a slow Spring warm-up for a change. But this next week is going to be just AWFUL with nothing but high temps and rain, so it's all over but the final picking as of today. ;)

Our 'Northstar' pie Cherries are about a week out from picking, too. Gotta get them before the birds do; not always an easy task!

From last season, this time of year; FIRST of the Cherries, LAST of the Strawberries:

Diana; Do you have one of those cranked mechanical pitters? (Cherry pic....one of my favorites!)

The across the street neighbor has a cherry tree. Its about 40 feet high and only the the birds can enjoy the fruit! (City people!)

My snow peas are just coming in, just a few days before we leave on vacation.

SO my plan is to harvest every last one, no matter what the size and get the flowers too.

It should trigger another flush of blooming for when we get home about 1 1/2 weeks later.

In the meantime, I need to put up something to shade the tomatoes, lettuce, and snow peas from these next few days of brutal heat with full sun.
