We are under a tornado watch AGAIN (along with 2/3 of the state) until 10 pm. Looking at what’s headed this way on radar, I think & pray we’re OK. There is a tornado warning but it’s way away in an eastern county & we are a far western county.

I dumped an inch of rain out of the gauge this morning, half an inch yesterday. Raining hard when we went to church - flood warnings were out & attendance down.

A possum was in the trap this morning. I had to jiggle the trap to wake it up from sleeping off the feast of cabbage, apples, & watermelon rinds I used for bait. It would not leave so I just left the trap door open.

We are having a big picnic/party at church the 29th. I signed up last week for baked beans - everyone loved them when I took them to a previous dinner. Today, I also signed up for deviled eggs. We have 2 carriers, hold 20 each. I hope I can find my recipe - had it on a card taped to the inside of a cabinet door & not sure I brought it when we moved..

Since I have the two deviled egg carriers, I thought I would decorate one of them with eggs that look like animals - the kids will love it & I can think of a few adults who will be amused at a minimum. :-)

Deviled Eggs recipe we use

12 Large Eggs
1/2 c Mayonnaise (we use salad dressing aka Miracle Whip)
2 tsp Dijon Mustard
2 tsp sweet pickle juice (we skip because we tend to not have bread & butter, gerkin etc)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp paprika (for sprinkle at end)
Dash to 1/2 tsp cayenne or curry powder, optional (we use cayenne and prob more than 1/2 tsp)

Now that I look at it, I think we use the 1/2 tsp cayenne and also replace the paprika sprinkle with cayenne. Good stuff, always raved about.

Um...I wouldn't leave, either! I'd be waiting on dessert, LOL!

You are the Baked Bean QUEEN!

Oh, that is SO CUTE when you do up Deviled Eggs like critters!

Lucky ‘possum. Here, they usually get turned into food for the chickens. (Turn about is fair play?)
