Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced sweeping leadership changes Thursday as part of an effort to dramatically ramp up arrests of illegal migrants.
The “leadership realignment” comes as Trump administration officials push for ICE to make a “minimum” of 3,000 arrests per day – up from the 1,800 per day quota the White House initially demanded in January.
As part of the shake-up, Kenneth Genalo is out as the head of ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) division – the branch tasked with executing arrests and deportations.
Genalo “decided to retire and will continue to serve the public as a special government employee to ICE,” the agency said in a statement.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Acting Executive Associate Director Robert Hammer has also been reassigned to a “critical leadership position.” HSI is a law enforcement agency that has been supporting ICE in making arrests during deportation raids.
Career ICE officials Marcos Charles and Derek Gordon will replace Genalo and Hammer at ICE and HSI, respectively.
In total, more than half a dozen personnel changes were made at ERO, HSI and other ICE divisions Thursday, according to the agency.
“Organizational realignments will help ICE achieve President Trump and the American people’s mandate of arresting and deporting criminal illegal aliens and making American communities safe,” ICE said in a statement.

While we are getting rid of the worst of the worst, an accurate population number has to be found of the illegals in the united states. Can we really think that all these people are not sending significant dollars back to family back home, and quite honestly think most have an alternative identity they travel back and forth with. Every legal or illegal I have ever talked to banks a good number of dollars with people back home, a second or third passport from the home nation is not unexpected.
We also need to provide a bit of paperwork about every one who decides to self deport, so that they are no immediately back under a legal path sponsored by ill-gotten gains. The industriousness and the wealth acquired in the United states should help their home nation much more than the world bank.
Over 1 million a year. Could be 30 years
Haha
Let us look at all these check cashing places/western union/international MoneyGram centers.
Place a federal surcharge on any moneygram going outside CONUS.
Any way deportation doesn’t stop the very moment a Dem is back in power?
That’s ONE of the reasons it’s essential that Republicans win again in ‘28
Removing them from all public services would help a lot. most would self deport.
Obama admin deported almost 3k per day.
With full knowledge most would walk right back in again unchallenged.
They’re never going to be able to get anywhere near enough out until they cut off the money. You can’t expect to be able to go round up 20-25 million illegals who want to stay. You’ve got to cut off the public money and aggressively prosecute employers - and the punishments for those who employ illegals need to hurt. That means prison time.
ONLY when you cut off all public benefits and scare employers straight will you get the tens of millions of illegals out.
That rate would be 1M a year, when just under Joe they came in at about 5M a year. Still relative squat.
Come to Tulsa. Please.
Aim small, miss small.
I’d rather the agency AIM for 5,000 a day and catch 3,000 than aim for 3,000 and get 1,000.
I just moved to Tennessee (finally) two weeks ago and the FIRST difference I noticed was: NO crowds of illegal aliens swarming big box hardware and U-Haul parking lots like they do back in Maryland.
Do those first, ICE, then hit construction sites. They a-hole who built 90% of house here used a team of illegals here and on a dozen other places - does ICE think this isn’t COMMON in the industry?
I have an electrician friend here who makes a pretty good living fixing jobs people have hired illegals to do after random fire marshal inspections shut down restaurants/kitchens along the Nashville to Huntsville corridor. If I knew how to post pictures, I’ve got a few of breaker boxes that would blow your mind. They make Medusa’s head of snakes look like a 1930’s hairstyle slicked back with Dapper Dan’s pomade.
Did you see the video of the ICE raid of the Baltimore Home Depot the other day? It was a joy to see.
I want illegals scared to come out in public unless they are heading home.
We need to guarantee safe passage to the mexico border. Perhaps using Biden App. Sign up that you’re self-deporting and you will be safe from arrest for two weeks. After that, you’ll be out of compliance, arrested, deported immediately to the destination of our choice and never allowed to return.
I’ll look for it.
It’s gotten SO bad in Maryland, when I went to rent a Uhaul truck for our move, there was a crowd of about a dozen SA/CA/Messkin-looking guys clamoring for attention held back outside the gate (gate? Yeah, just for the rental office side, the truck parking lot behind the building in Rockville was wide open) by a lone “guard” with a dayglow safety vest (no weapons I could see).
I felt like I was entering the set of “Soylent Green.”
The big box stores aren’t much better. The Home Despot store off Cherry Hill has DOZENS of guys all over the lot. Laurel’s store isn’t much better.
I’ve already been to Lowes and HD here in/around Columbia TN and you just DON’T see that here.
I don’t care HOW they leave, just that they all - ALL - do. By ANY Means Necessary (to borrow a fascistic progressive turn of a phrase).
Well, well, well...
For more on the construction site, and had to look quite a bit to find this info...
Note the public sector involvement.
Congratulations on getting out. We moved here for my job 15 years ago. We’re in Harford County which is a bastion of somewhat normalness.
I was here several months before the family could come so I had a chance to look around and get to know the area. There’s absolutely no way I’d live in Baltimore or anywhere south of that. Total complete oink haired, childless cat lady, winebox leftist lunacy
So will anyone be going after FSU and/or its contractors for the hiring of illegals to work the public sector job site...?
And, now that I think about it, I wonder how much the public sector was paying the contractor for the work done by the illegals...
And how much the illegals were getting?
Inquiring minds want to know.
Especially since the enemedia clearly doesn’t want to go there...
FSU and the contractor/s need to be put under a microscope for this.
I’m betting taxpayers were getting screwed in more ways than one...
