The point of gay marriage from the viewpoint of liberal social engineers is to desecrate the concept of holy matrimony and to render it ludicrous so that it can no longer serve as the backbone of civilization. Progressives continue to progress on this front:
The president of Whitman College late last month presided over the marriage between a senior at the school and her Whitman alum “wusband.”
The “wusband” is the one who wears the pants in a lesbian parody of a family.
President Sarah Bolton officiated the nuptials of Lita Bacus and “nonbinary lesbian” Fi Black at which “I do’s” and “dyke” rings were exchanged at Whitman’s Olin Hall, the Whitman Wire reports.
The entire town of Walla Walla, Washington was invited to the “Big Gay Wedding.” The wedding was religious, if you count moonbattery as a religion:
The wedding dress code was “dyke decadence,” and instead of gifts Bacus and Black asked for “donations to LGBTQIA+ causes.”
In addition, “dykes are sacred,” “dyke love is holy,” and “sapphic saints” were written across a pair of pews in the hall, and the bridesmaids “sprinkled” dental dams in lieu of flower petals.
They should have staged the spectacle in a church. Then they could have capped off the ceremony by defecating on the altar, in case anyone still doesn’t get what gay marriage is about.
Walla Walla was a town built by wheat farming. The farmers are still mostly conservative.
Then it was found that excellent wine grapes could be grown there.
Enter Seattle and California “sophisticates”.
It’s now Napa North.
In 1836, Marcus and Narcissa Whitman, Presbyterian missionaries, established the Whitman Mission at Waiilatpu, six miles west of present-day Walla Walla, Washington, in Cayuse territory. Their goal was to convert the Cayuse Indians to Christianity and introduce farming and education. They were among the first white settlers to travel overland to the Oregon Country. As Paul Harvey always said, "Now you know the rest of the story." And this lesbo "wedding" is more sickening than ever once you know the rest of the story.Their mission was sponsored by the The American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions (ABCFM) which was a Protestant missionary organization founded in 1810 in Boston, Massachusetts, making it the first major American foreign missionary society. It emerged from the Second Great Awakening, a period of religious revival, and was initially driven by Congregationalists, with later involvement from Presbyterians and other Protestant denominations.
The Whitman Mission became a key stop on the Oregon Trail, offering supplies and medical care. However, cultural tensions grew as the Cayuse resisted Christianity and farming.
In 1842, the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions ordered the closure of the Whitman Mission at Waiilatpu and another mission at Lapwai due to disputes, slow progress in converting the Cayuse, and high costs. To secure continued funding, Marcus Whitman undertook a grueling 3,000-mile journey from October 1842 to March 1843 to plead his case directly to the Board in Boston.
Traveling during WINTER, Whitman crossed the continent on horseback and by foot, enduring harsh conditions through the Rocky Mountains and Midwest. He left the mission in the care of others, accompanied by Asa Lovejoy, and faced dangers like blizzards and hostile terrain.
In Boston, Whitman argued passionately for the mission’s importance, emphasizing its role in Christianizing the Cayuse and supporting American emigration to the Oregon Country. He also leveraged his medical and agricultural contributions to settlers and natives.
The Board, persuaded by his determination and the mission’s strategic value as a waypoint on the Oregon Trail, reversed its decision and provided continued funding. Whitman’s trip also had broader impact: he promoted Oregon’s potential to settlers and officials, contributing to the Great Migration of 1843, which he helped guide back to Oregon with nearly 1,000 emigrants.
Whitman returned to his mission in 1843 with the Great Migration, increasing white settlement.
A measles outbreak in 1847 killed half the Cayuse population. Suspecting Marcus of poisoning, some Cayuse attacked the mission on November 29, 1847, killing Marcus, Narcissa, and 11 others in the Whitman Massacre. This sparked the Cayuse War (1847-1855) and led to the creation of the Oregon Territory in 1848.
The Whitman Mission National Historic Site was established in 1936 and preserves the site.
The Whitmans' legacy is commemorated by Whitman College, founded 1859.
THANK YOU!
I knew someone here would know what this is about.
Wheat acreage still dominates in Walla Walla and Whitman county by far. There are 2,800-3,000 acres of wine grapes versus 189,000 acres of wheat in Walla Walla County. Half of the wheat acres are fallow every year. Crop value is ~$50 million for wheat and ~$24 million for grapes. But wine production takes that up to $192 million!
You can see why there’s a shift from wheat to wine.
I am infuriated that our rugged pioneers who explored, opened up, and settled the region are so defiled by this garbage.
To calm down, here are some pics from our Walla Walla trip last year.
‘ Whitman College Presents Big Gay Wedding’
What a sick joke!
another college founded as a Christian school (indeed, a Christian seminary)
now turned to the Dark Side.
any sentient being (Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, or atheist) is born with the intelligence to perceive that homosexuality is not a success strategy for the future of a society
people should be allowed to live with their personal choice of partners and I won’t mess with them, but as a nation we should definitely NOT be promoting such arrangements by our societal institutions and especially not by (once-) Christian schools, imho
My best friend in Harvard graduate school was an alumnus of Whitman College. He was an atheist, so we argued a lot about religion. I hope he found God before he died.
It’s too bad that Whitman College sank so low as to host a lesbian “wedding”, with the college president presiding! Phooey!
It’s nice to own a little bit of heaven as my grandmother always said.
Pay attention to me, daddy”
The argument I'll make is that it should not be the government's business to issue marriage licenses.
In fact, it's one of the reasons why I'm in favor of "fair tax" which would impose a 30 percent national sales tax on purchases.
Obviously, we will see the Episcopal Church have a different approach than the Catholic Church when it comes to couples getting married.
And that's the way it should be.
If the government could not issue marriage licenses, there could be no secular weddings! That’s not really fair.
It should be up to the states on how they want to answer that question.
With Fair Tax, it'll be irrelevant if you are living with a "partner" at home. No reason for the federal government to be invovled.
As a Christian, I support marriage, NOT “living with a ‘partner’ at home”!
We have too much chaos as it is, and the level of chaos is getting unsustainable!
Correct. That's why you get married at your church.
State issued marriage certificates did not become common until the early 20th Century.
Previously, marriages were recorded by churches or noted in family bibles. No involvement from the government.
But there are too many atheists!
And there is too much chaos already—and it is growing!
Yes. And this is America. We have the freedom of religion according to the First Amendment.
,,, if universities can run this sort of racket then anyone can set up their own university on any street corner. It’s the same rationale.
Not sure I could say with a straight face, “I’m from Walla Walla.”
