The argument I'll make is that it should not be the government's business to issue marriage licenses.
In fact, it's one of the reasons why I'm in favor of "fair tax" which would impose a 30 percent national sales tax on purchases.
Obviously, we will see the Episcopal Church have a different approach than the Catholic Church when it comes to couples getting married.
And that's the way it should be.
If the government could not issue marriage licenses, there could be no secular weddings! That’s not really fair.
