EXCLUSIVE Target staff panic about store closures and job losses after cultural madness led to huge sales slump: 'We are cooked'

Target is struggling. Employees are worried.

Online message boards used by hundreds of in-store staff are lighting up with fears about job security, increased workloads, and potential store closures.

'We are cooked,' one employee said on Reddit. 'Less and less hours with little to no change with what the expectations are from us all.'

Another wrote: 'All we can do is ride it out and hope for the best. If it comes down to it, prepare a resume just in case.'

Several workers have also posted TikTok videos showing backrooms overwhelmed with merchandise that hasn’t made it to the sales floor — alleging that understaffing is leaving them buried.

'I hope these go viral so the corporate people might rethink how they unstaffed their stores and expect spotless departments,' one employee commented on a video showing mounds of backroom clothing.

Target hasn't responded to DailyMail.com's request for comment on the employee predictions and complaints.

But two days ago, the company released its quarterly earnings, which badly missed Wall Street's expectations.

'Target has found itself in a challenging position,' Neil Saunders, a retail expert at GlobalData, told DailyMail.com.

'The business is not terrible, but it is under pressure and that is causing nervousness among associates.'

Fewer shoppers went into Target stores during the last quarter, and when they did, they spent less money.

The company reported $23.85 billion in sales during the last quarter, a 2.8 percent drop from the previous three-month period. Analysts predicted the store would make $24.23 billion.

Targay. Nice store, but it is never my first choice. Go there about once a year and usually not find what I want anyway.

First strike for me, they banned concealed carry and didn’t provide me any self defense.

Second strike was the bathroom thing.

Wasn’t even a target shopper. But those decided it for me.

Their totally STUPID policies over the years drove away a significant part of their customer base. Tranny policies drive away straight people. DUH!

I feel for the threatened workers. Our feelings would be even better if those workers surrounded the “woke” executives and gave them a thorough, unforgettable attitude adjustment.

Sent the CEO a letter about five years ago stating “will never set foot in Target again.” No reply and I was true to my word. My heart bleeds liberal tears.....Stupid management goes with every new phony fad instead of holding traditional Judeo Christian values. Can you still buy a Bible at Target?

Local Target is in a very nice shopping center with great pet store, nice restaurants, an emergency med clinic, etc. I shopped at Target for years, bought some groceries, toilet paper, a cute jacket and hat, even a printer. People who work there were always nice and normal even after alleged LGBT crap in other stores.

Broke wrist, can’t drive, haven’t been there for quite awhile. This is a fairly conservative town, Target is probably still OK.

Over the years I worked at sizable plants and your job there was reliant on your performance AND the economy in general and YOUR company’s ability to grow and compete.

If you’re not a idiotic lib you realize your prosperity was tied to your company’s. Or if it was your company the same thing.

When you cheer policies like DEI hiring, or defending police so your store is eaten alive by thievery. Or trans compliance and anti-Christmas displays that drives customers away don’t expect your company to just use anti gravity to keep itself afloat.

Their totally STUPID policies over the years drove away a significant part of their customer base.

Most likely, it's due to a combination of people shopping on Amazon and Bidenflation so everyone is having less disposable income except for the 1% (they're not shopping at Target anyway).

I shopped there semi frequently and had a Target credit card (for the rewards). As soon as they stood their ground on the bathroom stuff I tore up my card and have never been back.

I would have thought the 'tuck-friendly' women's swimwear would have taken Target to new heights.

Not that I want to help Target or anything but they could do what Bud Light did; go patriotic.

I don't know if Bud Light totally recovered their market share but I would be willing to bet they stopped the hemorrhaging.

Overwhelming backroom inventory? Probably just trying to beat tariffs? Although Target should have distribution centers where the surplus Inv. should accumulate?

Big yawn for me. I have spent maybe $25 there in the last 5 years. Half of it on-line for a dozen Ball jars for Christmas treat Gifts. Definitely they were a price mistake which they sold for a loss.
