A group of teen bullies got a taste of vigilante justice after they were filmed beating up a young disabled woman in Hawaii.
Four teenagers - aged 13, 14, 16 and 18 - were arrested after horrific footage showed them surrounding and assaulting the confused woman, 21, who tried to shield herself as she was kicked and punched in the head.
The victim, named only as Carly, remained crouched on the ground and did not fight back as the attackers take turns assaulting her, with local spokesman Michael Kitchens branding their behavior 'evil.'
The brutal April attack was posted online earlier this month and sparked widespread anger from the Wahiawa community, who took matters into their own hands and hunted down the suspects.
The community members livestreamed themselves as they went looking for the bullies at their homes, with as many as 11,000 people watching at one point, as reported by Hawaii News Now.
Footage shows dozens of students and parents heading to the suspects' residences, with someone climbing up a building's exterior at one point. The vigilantes knocked on their doors and demanded the bullies came out and meet with them.

Sounds more like a public shaming than vigilante justice.
In the old west the vigilance committee would have done a lot more than threaten criminal thugs. Although the thugs now understand that the entire community knows who they are, is watching them, knows where they live, and dislikes them very much. In such a situation self imposed banishment is probably the best course of action for the young thugs.....or finding Jesus.
string all of them up, ASAP!!
It looks like they were teen female bullies. (cowies?).
Haven’t reporters realized that no one “films” anything anymore? There is no “footage” anymore. These are stubborn anachronisms. I suggest the term “vidcap” to describe the digitally recorded data....
New headline...
Teen females cow and assault disabled woman. Angry crowd finds, and shames the cowies.
Vidcap at 11.
Hopefully the community will do more than just shame them.
I'm all for developing neologisms to describe new things and phenomena.
For what is "vidcap" a portmanteau? Would the verb be "to vidcap?"
Regards,
Oh shut up and dial the number!
"Charges dismissed pending further investigation." Translation: Given enough time, this should blow over and people will forget about it.
When the government fails(refuses) to protect it’s citizens, the citizens must protect themselves.
we dont need to make up new words... soon we’ll be at the stage of words like Juneteenth...
“Tar and Feather” “Run out of town on a rail” and, oldest of all, “Outlaw” all have real and useful meaning, and can be appropriate vigilante alternatives to “String them up.”
In the costal community where I grew up, the creative alternative of sending people out to sea on a log in the general direction of Hawaii was allegedly used in one or two instances. Maybe the journey was successful, and the descendant have multiplied.
“Beat the Sh!t” out of them, accompanied by public shaming would seem to be appropriate in this instance.
If the community on an organized basis is unwilling to invest in jails and use them, perhaps they can invest in stocks. They were cheap and likely more of a deterrent than some things used today.
Locals beating a haole maybe?
We left HI partially due to that racism.
“or finding Jesus.”
…Let’s pray they choose “or”
That little monster looks a tad retarded
I wish “the community” had livestreamed themselves beating these chicks’ asses to a bloody pulp.
The eldest bully in the group, 18-year-old Jasmine Keola, spoke to KHON2 as she was released from jail on Thursday after chargers against her were dropped against the bullies.
The eldest bully in the group, 18-year-old Jasmine Keola, spoke to KHON2 as she was released from jail on Thursday after chargers against her were dropped.
'It was incidents on the bus that happened and it just got way out of hand. So I took it upon myself, I got pressured actually to fighting the girl,' Keola claimed.
'I didn’t want to fight her. but I did anyway. So I talked to her, but again I’m sorry for what I did, I didn’t mean to do it.'
Keola's excuse was met with derision by locals who say she's shown little remorse and now seems keen to try and play the victim.
The other teen bullies were also released from jail. The case against them has been dismissed - but investigators say this is only because they need to gather further evidence with a mind to press stronger charges in the near-future.
The excuse for releasing & dismissing charges seem somewhat contrived to me, as they have the video evidence available to exam as they continue holding them.
Sounds to me that they are more likely buying time to let the steam escape, and will later be tried on misdemeanor charges because of their ages.
11,000 people went searching for these girls. If the black community did this, they could change social direction over night. Africans vs. Hawaiians. Hawaiians win by a 11,000 point landslide.
That was my first thought.
