The marijuana was inside 155 vacuum-sealed packages listed on the manifesto as “brace overalls for men / heavy duty workwear bib.”

According to a press release from CBP, “The marijuana collectively weighed 91.3 kilograms, or 201 pounds and five ounces, and has a street value of about $875,000 in the United States. Depending on potency, this shipment could have fetched two to three times more in Europe.”

ROTFL!!! Brilliant move by the DemonRAT Senators’ favorite illegal alien invaders, the Mexican Drug Cartel. America’s Newest Ward Cleaver Father of the Year award winners. Hide “Happy Smoke” in with “overhauls” for hard-working, Mexican “hard workers.”

street value of about $875,000

I always find the cop math fascinating. Their #'s are always heavily exaggerated. $250k - $350k street value. MAYBE $500k in especially dry areas, but with current MJ laws around the country, it's far easier to get legally these days. I'm surprised the mexican brickweed is still being imported. I haven't come in contact with any of that stuff in over 10 years. Maybe their #'s are so high because it's such a rarity these days. Lol.

Some areas of the country, you get $400 a pound for 20-25% potency weed.

Same weed will get $1200 a pound in other states...

In my financial services career, we refer to such regional price mismatches as “arbitrage opportunities”.

Baltimore is a city port. Goods aren’t necessarily destined for Maryland.

That is some “value added” product.

I recall years ago some pictures of some Brazilian plywood that the units had been cut out in the middle. Inside was a bunch of cocaine.
It had been intercepted by the French police. I wondered how many previous containers had been delivered and not detected.

Baltimore is one of the largest bulk ports on the east coast. They also have large inside storage warehouses that other ports do not have.

The other favorable thing about Baltimore is that the trucking freight out of that port is pretty reasonable in comparison to other east coast ports.
Meaning, you pay a lot less per mile on the trucking out of Baltimore as oppose to Newark, Philly, Wilmington, New Haven, Charleston or Savannah.

Just like any other commodity the worth is only what the market will bear.

But yeah I tend to agree, law enforcement tends to want to lean on the higher end of estimated value.

Makes it a “bigger bust”.

anyone read the article?

CBP officers continue to observe a continuing trend of transnational criminal organizations attempting to ship United States-based marijuana to Europe and Africa where high-quality weed can fetch huge profits.

Once marijuana was legalized, the vulture politicians swept in and taxed the crap out of it. Now “legal” pot is too expensive for the daily smokers and a new black market has emerged. Who could not have seen this coming?
