In his budget plan for fiscal year 2026, President Donald Trump has proposed cutting a total of $32.9 billion in funding to HUD. The plan includes a $26.7 billion cut to federal rental aid — approximately 40% of the total — and would essentially end Section 8 and other housing voucher programs, according to NPR.

I’ve known a couple landlords who refused to join the section 8 program. They told me why. It wasn’t race.

My previous renter wasn't section 8. She was a white meth head. She destroyed all of the household appliances, the toilet, the shower valve and all of the kitchen cabinets. It cost me nearly $20,000 to repair all the damage and replace the appliances. In addition, she was 8 months behind in rent. It was difficult to get her out.
My new tenants helped immensely in removing the trash from the prior tenants. They had an urgent need to get a house in the school district, so the clean-up I wanted to do wasn't done before they needed to move in. At this point, I still need to refinish the kitchen walls above the back splashes and finish the tiling around the new shower valve. Everything else is in good order with respect to the house. The new tenants are splitting the tee pee, so there is a disruption in rent payment again.

That particular rink had a group of 10 to 15 black skaters who were very good and a joy to have on the floor. They were present on most Friday and Saturday nights.
The homeowners/apt owners get FULL RENT PRICE from government and a little bit from the occupant. THEY are the ones who will scream. Without the Section 8 system, they would be looking for renters and lowering prices... WIN WIN for working people.
My daughter works for DSHS in WA state, she is the one who approves amenities within these homes dara licks occupy. They get new furnishings at taxpayer expense, cuz they b po fok’
