They are losing, and they are upset.

Seems like neither side wants peace. I think this is a major blunder on Russia’s part. Now is the time to ink a deal while Trump is still in office. Trump may not even finish his term. He is almost 80 for one. When Trump is gone, the window for peace will very likely be closed, and perhaps sooner than that if both sides continue the games.
Russia seems to be reveling in what it sees as a victory over Ukraine and is enjoying flaunting the peace talks. It may very well come back and bite them.
Where’s the rus shitter ?
This may turn out to be more of a Turkey/Ukraine summit, than one involving Russia.
Looks like Putin only proposed these talks to stall for time, and continue stringing President Trump along, to avoid the hammer of the bone-crushing sanctions that president Trump has threatened (prohibitive secondary sanctions on buyers of Russian oil exports), if Russia does not cease fire and make peace with Ukraine (soon).
Meanwhile, it appears that President Trump is coordinating Global oil output increases, to make up for the potential sudden loss of Russia’s exports, so that he can drop that hammer on Russia, without spiking oil prices.
Saudi Arabia has been ramping up production for two months already, and inventories are building. President Trump said yesterday that a deal with Iran may be close. Everyone is hungry for the windfall profit that would come from taking over Russia’s market share - a once in a lifetime opportunity.
A bone-crushing hammer is ready to drop on Russia, because of Putin, the Doom of Russia.
