The Soviet Union had a real problem with a declining population. I suspect China is suffering a similar problem for similar reasons. The forced abortions didn’t help.

I’m seeing several youtube videos claiming this, but I suspect it’s more “woe is China” propaganda.
Official population counts only show a small decline.
Chinese exports to the US were up prior to the tariffs.
