A friend told me a story about how he was in E. Germany just after the fall of the Berlin Wall
There was a Lenin statue in a local park. Some prankster spray-painted Lenin’s crotch yellow, and the local officials then cleaned it. Then it happened again. This went on several times
Then they removed the statue.
Maybe that might happen here.
