The daughter of a man killed this week in a Brentwood paving accident described how heartbroken she is that her father is no longer with her.
Salma Torres of Petaluma identified her late father as Telesforo Torres López, in a GoFundMe post.
The 54-year-old was pinned by a large piece of machinery involved in a paving job at Dainty Avenue and Walnut Boulevard on Monday afternoon, according to family and police.
It's unclear just what happened and Cal-OSHA is investigating.
Salma Torres said her dad "was our everything" who put the needs of others above his own.
For example, she said, even if he worked a long day in the scorching sun, he would hug his family until he "managed to squeeze a smile out of us" and caress his children's faces while he listened to their problems.

Americans send all their money to GoFundMe and then throw a tantrum because they don’t have any money buy some eggs. Geesh.
Sad thing happened. No details at all.
This is journalism.
Was he an American citizen or an illegal alien?
Who cares. He apparently was a hard worker and now he’s dead. That’s really the first thing that comes to your mind?
I don’t see any evidence that he’s illegal.
I don’t see any evidence that he’s illegal.
++++++++++
There is no evidence. I get the hint that he might be illegal only from observation that the media appears to care about this dude and his family. If it was joe6pack I don’t think they would G.A.F. However, if the dude was illegal, he must be a saint.
I feel so sorry for the family. The construction industry is dangerous -- fortunately a lot less dangerous than decades ago.

It most definitely was to me.
Working with heavy machinery is dangerous! It’s even more dangerous if unqualified people are operating it. But the article tells us nothing useful. Are we to assume he’s illegal? Was drinking or smoking dope? This is what passed for journalism.
Several hard workers died in car crashes yesterday. Many had heart attacks. Do we need articles on all of them?
Horrifying. Prayers of protection over all construction workers and construction sites in Jesus’ name.
Would trust safety more if projects were overseen by The Trump Organization.
Sympathy
Always a precious commodity here
Whereas scorn is as plentiful as fried chicken and extensions and Lee press-ons at Jasmine Crocketts house
Thanksgiving dinner has to a blast with some folks here
Interesting, but why did you post it? Accidents happen everyday.
Well if it turns out he was maybe you can go to the funeral and celebrate.
Well the media only seems to focus on these stories when the person was illegal. It just goes with the territory now. Now wishing or celebrating his death one way or another.
Maybe I am just jaded at this point and tired of being manipulated with sob stories about some poor illegal, while ignoring the killers and rapists amongst us that are illegal to drive a narrative...
No one is celebrating the death. If he was illegal, then he would not have died in this accident had he not broken the law by illegally entering the USA, as he would still be in the country of his origin. And if he was illegal, it is likely he may be less skilled than an American citizen, as the American citizen is likely to have come to the job with more skills...and may not have been in the accident in the first place.
On the other hand, I am a firm believer that God put us on earth for a specific time period. We each have a start and stop date, predetermined by God Almighty. So, sad as it is...it was his time to go, no matter where he was or what he was doing.
Illegals use the fake it until you make it method as a means to gain employment. Obviously this is a hazardous way to learn a new trade.
In 1979 16 workers were killed when the roof of the Rosemont Horizon collapsed during construction.
