Chinese President Xi Jinping told Russia's Vladimir Putin on Thursday their two countries should be "friends of steel", as they pledged to raise cooperation to a new level and "decisively" counter the influence of the United States.
At talks in the Kremlin, the two leaders cast themselves as defenders of a new world order no longer dominated by the U.S.
In a lengthy joint statement, they said they would deepen relations in all areas, including military ties, and "strengthen coordination in order to decisively counter Washington's course of 'dual containment' of Russia and China".

Xi, whose country is currently engaged in a tariff war launched by Trump, said China and Russia should solidify the foundations of their cooperation and "eliminate external interference".
The two countries should "be true friends of steel that have been through a hundred trials by fire", he told Putin.
In another implied reference to the U.S., Xi said Russia and China would work together to counter "unilateralism and bullying".

Wrong move Putin. But, you can’t see that.
Russia seems to have a knack in finding bad cohorts.
The woke globalists are extensively infiltrated by the ChiComs.
Now Putin joins their alliance.
Interesting. The US is trying to pull back from the post-WWII order it created. And Russia and China are desperately trying to keep us deeply involved.
Consequences of Ukraine.
A legacy of Biden which will have long term global implications.
This is what happens when you have inexperienced college educated fools, people that never left the US, brain dead career politicians, making strategic level decisions.
Nothing has changed, they always had and still have the same goals when it comes to the Americans, overcome and defeat them.
The last “Pact of Steel” the US faced in a global conflict came out on the short end of the stick.
The United States under Biden clearly lost a massive amount of prestige and influence. The damage done to our image by the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan and then the squandering of $Hundreds of Billions of taxpayer funds in Ukraine along with “sanctions” that were disregarded even by our closest allies has been a disaster for our image. Hopefully, President Trump will be able to salvage the situation somehow, but it will be an uphill battle.
Putin and Xi are afraid of President Trump and acting like two whiny b*****s.
I do not necessarily disagree with your sentiment, but the two of them have no interest in impressing a couple of silly old codgers arguing in this forum. They know their target audience, and Putin especially is quite good at playing to his. Despite Putin being in a war that has taken a terrible toll on the young men in his country... Xi is the one who is currently facing more internal turmoil. This seems extremely strange.
Typo! They meant “Friends of Steal.”
Yep. And like the last pact of steel they will throw each other to the wolves at the first opportunity.
Don’t forget the FR Putin cheerleaders...lol
Like the Warsaw Pact, one will invade the other shortly.
Shades of 1939.
Pact of steel anyone?
(Look that one up.)
