The White House is very concerned with young people’s babymaking. President Donald Trump is considering ideas like a $5,000 “baby bonus” for new moms to encourage a baby boom, a step down from an even more ambitious $5,000 child tax credit idea from Vice President JD Vance, a longtime evangelist for encouraging more kids. “I want more babies in the United States of America,” he declared in his very first public speech as vice president.
“Pronatalism,” the belief that the government should directly address America’s falling birth rates, is not inherently conservative, but it’s rapidly gaining momentum in the MAGA movement. In addition to Vance, the crusade to Make America Have Babies Again has a strong supporter in Elon Musk, who practices what he preaches.
But Trump and his allies’ plans for a “baby boom” do not line up with what people of childbearing age in this country are saying.
According to a Harvard Institute of Politics Youth Poll conducted in March, less than half of young adults under 30 say having a child is important to them. In a list of life goals, having kids came in last for the young people surveyed by the Harvard poll.
In theory, adding some kind of tax benefit might help — 86 percent of young adults say financial security is important — but in my experience interviewing fellow Gen Zers, and researching polling data around their decisions, cash remedies do not address the root causes behind why young people are having fewer children. Something more fundamental has changed, both in how women view their own lives and how they relate to men — and conservative men, specifically — that a bigger refund can’t solve.

The number of people who are determined not to subject any children they would have had to the dysfunction they grew up with has been increasing for several decades.
We have been below a replacement birth rate since 1973 but the decline started well before that.
The left doesnt care that the majority of those babies that have been aborted are BLACK..but the commies don’t care, the ones who pretend to care so much about black people are the same ones who favor eliminating an entire race of black children

One of the biggest obstacles for couples raising children is the cost of child care. If our government wants to encourage couples to have more kids, then increase the child tax credit to include a max $1500 per month per child (maximum 4 children) for 3rd party child care (receipts required.) Since this is a tax credit, this will not apply to people on welfare or any other non-W2 or non-1099 persons since they do not pay taxes.
But with abortion we buy less babies. Thus the opposite probably works.

The way to 'get more babies' is to create nice well paying jobs for young men so they can compete for young women with the middle aged men who want them walking around their offices and stores as 'ego puffing eye candy'. Not that these liberal 'men' want to have affairs - they might be faithful they need the ego massage of young women. And the young women? They would much rather have a husband and family and the love that brings. Bad among the professional classes - worse among the working classes.
Maybe this bimbo - - Rachel Janfaza - - should do a story on the ages of the men, and ages of the women, in the Washington Post Newsroom to see.
Once the women are past the child bearing age Newsrooms dump all of 'em except the most merit-talented.
They're no longer ego massaging eye candy at that point.
