I think the greatest threat to the nation is the unbridled spending and overall debt that both parties created…and continue to add to.
While I think DOGE is a good start, unless spending is cut—a lot—we will be buried. I doubt if the country is going to have the stomach for this. Like any other addiction, spending is a tough one to break for politicians.
The “what about the poor” crap will start up in January for the Mid terms. We will probably lose the house. MAGA will be frozen.
Trump, Vance, and DOGE have about six more months to get real. Vivek is going to be “too late to the party” to affect change.
I hope not.
May God restore our Free Constitutional Republic miraculously as he miraculously birthed America.
Vivek is hanging with all those foreigners he thinks are better than Americans. Vivek confirmed the fears or hesitations that many in maga had about him.
Obviously, the truly exclusive definition of nBc is: Born here to citizen parents, plural.
No other definitions truly exclude.
The rogues gallery of those born here exclusive of parentage is frightening.
Those born overseas to one or two U.S. citizens is not much better.
The Mark Levin definition of nBc appears to be: Anyone born anywhere in the known universe to any parents whatsoever, except those born outside the U.S. to non-U.S. parents (plural).
You’ll agree, will you not? That such a a non-exclusive restriction is hardly worth John Jay mentioning (”Permit me to hint...”) in a solemn letter to the then-president of the Constitutional Congress
Exactly.
Not all non-nBC U.S. citizens born here would think to speak that way.
No nBc would think to speak that way unless corrupted while young by someone other than their mother or father.
But Vivek did think to speak that way.
And it’s good he did, because it shows why we enshrined the nBc category in our Constitution in the first place.
People like Rubio will sacrifice time periods for the benefit of the master they serve.
What do you think of the master Rubio serves?
Is he worth serving?
I hope not.
May God restore our Free Constitutional Republic miraculously as he miraculously birthed America.
I have learned that in order for miracles to come from God, we must be “ready” to see.
America, as a whole, is not ready to “see”.
I fear the country, and the world, are going to see a return to the idiocy of the 19th century before we progress much further into the 21st.
For everything there is a season; I fear we are in autumn. Winter is coming.
rubio with Trump as his boss
yes
rubio in charge
fuggetaboutit
DampRid TV Spot, ‘Get Rid of the DAAAMP!’
In Ribio’s case it would be DAAAm
He stinks
I had my doubts about Rubio, but have been very pleasantly surprised so far.
A great incoming of souls to the Lord is coming before that great and terrible Day of the Lord (Luke 14:23). I believe America will be a part of it, so I think prosperity is coming.
Same with Vivek.
When the Constitution was written, both one's parents must have been born in the U.S. in order for you to have NBC status.
Unfortunately, the waters have been muddied since then.
The Supreme Court decisions people are posting here are all on the issue of defining what establishes NBC status--not on defining the qualifications for the Presidency, which remain constitutionally explicit and unchanged.
Thus, Obama's two elections were constitutionally invalid, because only ONE of his parents satisfied the born-in-the-U.S. requirement.
To put it historically and literally, if both parents were not born in the U.S., the Constitution says you are not qualified to run for the Presidency, a requirement which reflects the Founders' repeated concerns for avoiding any foreign connections within the highest office.
I fear we are inexorably moving toward a time when just about anyone will be allowed to be nominated for the Presidency, the U.S. Constitution be damned.
With threads like this one, on a supposedly conservative website, we are almost there now.
I guess you haven't been paying much attention...at all. https://freerepublic.com/focus/search?m=all;o=time;q=quick;s=rubio
Vivek is an NBC, born to parents legally within the United States and therefore subject to its jurisdiction, which was the meaning of the phrase at the time it was written, and is a matter that has been adjudicated multiple times.
What has not been adjudicated is children born to parents not legally within the US and that is now likely going to be.
Vance has the advantage. He appears to be great on the campaign trail. From recent history, that was not the case with Rubio and DeSantis.
Rubio should be in the running as the VP.
The 14th Amendment IS a glorified naturalization statute.
The 14th Amendment IS NOT an extension of the Constitutionally-incorporated concept of natural Born citizen.
Individuals forced to point to the 14th Amendment to prove U.S. citizenship ARE NOT demonstrating personal participation in the natural Born citizen franchise formally recognized and established in 1788 (9th sovereign ratification). They ARE demonstrating personal participation in the later-arriving franchise of what This Guy would describe as Constitutional naturalization. Once again—a Constitutional extension of the concept of naturalization.
Congress has the Constitution power to regulate naturalization, including naturalization based at least in part on birth circumstances. Some don’t know this, but when the late Arizona senator John McCain was born in or adjacent to the Panama Canal Zone, no U.S. statute existed that had been passed pursuant to Congress’ Constitutional power to “establish an uniform rule of Naturalization”, but only some few years afterward, when Congress squarely looked at the situation, and chose to act. Otherwise, John McCain would not have later been recognized, or even legally recognizable, as a U.S. citizen. This despite having two U.S. citizen parents, one of whom was a high-ranking officer in the U.S. Navy.
Do you get it? Congress has to act under its Naturalization power, it then acts under its Naturalization power, and ***whamo***—individuals born under specific circumstances are retroactively recognized as citizens. Naturalized citizens!!
