Seven students — some as young as 5 — hit with battery charges for alleged school bus beatdown on 7-year-old classmate (Georgia)

Seven Georgia students — some as young as 5 — were arrested for allegedly attacking their 7-year-old classmate during an early morning bus ride to school, according to police.

The alleged attackers, who range in age from 5 to 14, were slapped with battery charges for the vicious beatdown that erupted while their bus was en route to Mattie Lively Elementary School in Statesboro on April 18, the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday.

Police said they were notified of the heinous assault roughly a week later and identified the troubled students after reviewing the transport’s security footage, which captured the unruly group teaming up to attack the young child, WSAV reported.

“One child came over the seat and basically used his feet to stomp on this 7-year-old,” Captain Todd Hutchens told the outlet, adding that it was a “violent attack.”

“Five-year-olds know right from wrong. They hold responsibility just like an adult, just like a 14-year-old. They know better than to start jumping on a child and striking that child with a hand or a first or a book or those types of things.”

The student only suffered some bruising as a result of the assault, WTOC reported.

Of course the 14 year old is culpable but even for the 14 year old a School Resource Officer the children are familiar with should handle a situation like this.

Another Reason to Homeschool

Is this the wonderful “socialization” that homeschoolers are missing?

What would happen to an adult victim if this happened on a workplace bus? Would the adult victim win a lawsuit, paying out millions?

And...Why are children gaslit with the **FAKE** statement that school prepares them for the “real” world?

The entire situation is disgusting. It is prison-gang socialization.

While the intent is understood, the term "feral" would not be used because it requires them to have been domesticated prior to going feral.

The proper term, although considered offensive by those who despise the truth, is "savage".

Apparently the school let a week go by without doing anything at all.
Essentially the school was reinforcing the parent’s lack of discipline.

These “kids” are already “scarred for life” by being allowed, and likely encouraged, to act like animals.

Did you forget to indicate sarcasm or do you want roving packs of little feral monsters?

I want discipline but not a road straight to the state pin at the age of five.   I would also charge the parents for not fulfilling parental obligations in whatever way possible.

Fear of this kind of thing is presumably why parents pick up their kids even though the school bus ride is free.

Poor bus driver. More like a zoo keeper.

Poor bus driver indeed.

They dare not charge the little savages, so they charge the bush drive because he didn't stop the bus and break up the fight.

Bus driver, Joey Edwin Jackson, 70, was charged with cruelty to children and failure to report child abuse, police said.

Jackson was charged with second-degree cruelty to children and failure to report child abuse, police said, adding that he was also fired from his position.

He was booked at Bulloch County Jail on April 30 and was released the following day after posting a $15,000 bond, jail records showed.

Unfortunately, black families are letting their children become feral rather than disciplining them.

Families?

Single mothers who themselves are feral.

Whatever he did in this situation, he was going to be arrested. If he broke up the fight the perps would have jumped him.

Imagine if he stopped the bus and broke up the fight?

He'd have been charged as well.

We can't win at this game.

See my post #35.
