Sheryl Crow is opening up about her headline-making move against Elon Musk, saying the public protest of selling her Tesla was a way for her to fight for her children’s future.
The “Soak Up the Sun” singer shared a video on Instagram in February of her Tesla being towed away, saying she was donating funds from the sale of the vehicle to NPR in response to Musk and President Trump’s calls to slash federal funding for public broadcasters.
NPR, Crow said at the time, is “under threat” by Musk, the CEO of Tesla and head of the Department of Government Efficiency.
In an interview with Variety published Wednesday, the Grammy Award winner described the reaction she received for the move, which was mocked by critics, including Federal Communications Commission Chair Brendan Carr.
“This feels different, because when I came out against Walmart carrying guns, not everybody was armed — and certainly I didn’t live in Tennessee, where everybody is armed,” the Nashville resident said, making a reference. to her 1996 song, “Love Is a Good Thing.”

OK, I’m confused. Which “I care” ribbon do you wear when you sell your Tesla?
I had the same feeling about Madonna when she first broke out. At about that time Cyndi Lauper was also starting. I thought she would have more staying power. Don’t ask me for any stock tips. :)
That does seem to be the mantra of the virtue signaler. Virtue signalers are very easily manipulated.
If you can no longer get attention with making a hit song, then attack Trump in public.
She is getting ahead of her skiis. Or overrunning her headlights, as Paul Harvey use to say.
Still a dumbass after all these years.
My head hurts trying to figure out liberal logic.
Musk is trying to save taxpayers from waste and fraud. Why is that a bad thing?
Next, whatever she does with her Tesla has no effect on Musk so what is the point?
I have her Best Hits...
something I can throw away.
Show biz is full of them. They live in a different world. A good friend of mine who I played for has become a multimillionaire investing his music publishing rights into real estate. He’s as loony as Ronstadt, they are great friends and have sung together, opera on Broadway of all things.
If it was a real protest, she’s burn the car, not just transfer ownership
Miss “One square of toilet paper” can go entertain herself.
Brown flush it Down...
Yellow , let ot Mellow.
I am also reminded of the boy in my 1980s high school class.
He was always the male lead in all the school plays. Sang in the chorus, etc. He sat with all the girls from the Drama Club/Chorus at lunch. Either he was getting more tail than all of us other guys combined OR he was a homo. At the time I guess I was too naive to know or care.
I don't know what happened to him after high school. I would not be surprised if he went to college for drama/acting.
For her kids, climate change and all that.
Bet the ignorant slut has owned a Volkswagen at one time or another in her life.
Heck, I live in the Albuquerque metro. I'm at almost exactly a mile in altitude. My trees have already put on leaves and I have some apples already growing. These same trees just barely shedded their leaves from last fall sometime in February.
Imagine the smell.
Imagine the smell.
Her “kids” must be in their 40’s by now.
