She was a very hairy Greta Thunberg, and her last sign language was telling mankind to stop hurting the earth. "Man stupid! Man stupid!" in lieu of "How dare you!"

Signing is not talking. Misleading headline.
Monkeys are like computer models - garbage in garbage out. The gorilla’s handler fed her that crap and she repeated it.
Animal abuse.

Have you ever heard of a gorilla that could drive a car, make jokes, knew over 1,000 words, and even took care of a pet cat Yes.
And it was fiction.
When they tried to have someone else figure out what "ook" and lots of hand waving meant, they couldn't. Because it did not mean anything. Same with several other "talking apes".
We are not children any more, time to put away childish things. Like talking animals.

I loved the X-Files episode in which the gorilla was signing to Mulder saying “man save man”.

Chimpanzees have also been taught to communicate with sign language and/or using colored plastic objects. One of them was named Nim Chimpsky in honor of a famous linguist (and left-wing conspiracy nut), Noam Chomsky.

And now we’re spending billions of dollars to create human looking robots and having ‘conversations’ with them and seeking their ‘advice’. Humans ARE stupid.

Before he passed away, he had a message that he passed on to the whole world in sign language that you will be amazed and shiver when you hear it… "I have information that will lead to the arrest of Hillary Clinton!"

I watched the beginning and jumped to the end. Coco’s affection for cats was cute.
I find it interesting but a bit of a stretch. I think it’s generally like that in “animal is like man” stories. The investigators have a bias toward the animal. Probably emotion, preconceptions/ideology, and funding precede the conclusion.
Perhaps they’ve established that Gorillas, dolphins, and elephants are the most advanced non-human animals. There is still a giant leap to humanity.
It does make for entertaining fiction to include “Lassie, is Timmy in trouble?” “Thanks for all the fish” and the final words from this video.
