Not convinced he should get that much money, but it’s a great find.
I spent a terrific week in Turkey before Islamist Erdogan became president. Went with a Jewish friend and we hired a guide who spoke English and drove us all over the country. People were delighted to see Americans then, even unveiled me, and I bought a lot of valuable stuff for very little money. Turks love cats, every stray was well fed. But they hate dogs. We fed stray dogs in every town we visited.

If you want an authentic taste of Turkey, visit Oklava Cafe in Palo Alto, CA. It's staffed completely by Turks and they actually have all their many pastries made in Istanbul and flown in daily!

Actually, the prices are not bad for a decadent dessert. Below is a sample of their baclava menu. It was the BEST baclava I’ve ever had and they throw in a piece of “Turkish Delight” with your order, too. I had no idea there were so many different types of baclava.
Baklava
Double Pistachio, $3.60 - Layers of thin, crispy pastry crushed pistachio, and sweet syrup
Double Walnut, $3.00 - Layers of thin, crispy pastry crushed walnut from Turkey, and sweet syrup
Square Slice with Pistacho, $4.80 - Thin pastry sheets, finely chopped pistachios, smooth melted butter, and sweet syrup
Square Slice with Walnut, $3.60 - Thin pastry sheets, finely chopped walnut, smooth melted butter, and sweet syrup
Triangle with Pistachio, $4.80 - Triangle-cut layers of thin, finely chopped pistachios, smooth melted butter, and sweet syrup.

The young lady at the counter was very helpful. She told me the name of the cafe, “Oklava,” means “rolling pin” in Turkish.

It's doubtful that statutes of Mary existed in 325 AD. There were no references to Mary in the First Council of Nicaea. By the time of the First Council of Nicaea in 325 AD, Christian art was beginning to develop significantly. However, it is important to note that the use of religious imagery was still a contentious issue among early Christians. The church had not yet established a uniform practice regarding the veneration of images or statues. Theological debates about iconography would continue for centuries, culminating in significant controversies such as the Iconoclast Controversy in the Byzantine Empire.
