Sounds like the newspeak phonetic alphabet . . . A is for Alice, B is for ball, C is for car . . . etc. . . . .

MANY times I have occasion to phonetically spell with Filipina call centers and they ALL use the military, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta etc.

If you look at the route tracking map she was only above 200 feet for well less than a minute.

Does anyone have any doubt, without her connections, gender, and sexual preference, she would have had this job? Yes it is a busy area, yes perhaps the trainer should have done something different, yes the controller might have been a little clearer but these other side possibilities would not have been needed except for DEI. Ultimately her, and the people behind hiring her, are the ones responsible.

The CW2 was the instructor pilot. The captain would be the PI. The -12 would read the CW2 logging IP/SP time and the CPT would be logging PI time. She was not the PIC.

Reference: 18 years as an AH-64D/E Apache Instructor Pilot, Instrument Flight Examiner, Master Gunner, Air Mission Commander, Aviation Safety Officer, and Pilot-in-Command. CW4 when I retired one year ago yesterday.

It doesn’t matter. I think the ATC order was mere seconds before the crash. Aircraft in this airspace are routinely allowed to close at much lower limits than by statute. Just insane in a congested commercial airspace with large numbers of passengers transiting daily.

There was no instructor aboard.

She was on a check ride with somebody that had more current experience and supposedly qualified to rate her flying abilities. Maybe the difference in rank had something to do with the accident. The final report might shed some light on what happened..

No, I’m quite correct. The captain was being evaluated on her Annual Proficiency and Readiness Test (APART) by CW2 Eaves, the Instructor/Standardization Pilot.

So, in fact, YOU are wrong. You an Army Aviator presently or retired? If not, hush.

Why would a pilot with 326 hours flight time in that type have an instructor sitting next to her? What is the minimum amount of flight time in that type to be considered “trained”?
