A lefty Wisconsin jurist is threatening not to hold court following Friday’s arrest of Milwaukee judge for allegedly helping a Mexican illegal migrant evade federal immigration officers.
Monica Isham, a circuit judge Sawyer County, defended Judge Hannah Dugan Saturday, claiming in an email to other state judges that she “has no intention of allowing anyone to be taken out of my courtroom by [Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents] and sent to a concentration camp,” Wisconsin Right Now first reported.
Isham, who in 2023 became the first Native American elected to the county’s circuit court, also threatened to “start raising bail money” for defendants.
“Yesterday, Judge Hannah Dugan of Milwaukee County stood on her Oath in the very building she swore to uphold it and she was arrested and charged with felonies for it,” Isham wrote.
“Enough is enough. I no longer feel protected or respected as a Judge in this administration. If there is no guidance for us and no support for us, I will refuse to hold court in Branch 2 in Sawyer County. I will not put myself or my staff who may feel compelled to help me or my community in [harm’s] way.”
“If this cost me my job or it gets me arrested, then at least I know I did the right thing,” she added.

A judge is just a lawyer with too much power.
Another judge in jail? Weird hill to die on but no one is above the law, so...
A gaggle of judges need to be removed as they’re an impediment to progress!
If only part of the laws apply, then none of the laws apply.
What a completely ignorant point of view. If the police came to arrest a murderer they had been searching for, would she sneak that person out the back door? A judge, of all people, should understand, you don’t have to like the law, but you have to enforce it. This is why women have no business in these positions, everything is based on emotion.
She’s one of the Indian Commies in Northern Wisconsin.
Yes. And start grabbing illegals from the courts of Boasberg and co.
Well said.
Ahem. You’re using a broad paintbrush. Not all females operate on emotion.
As you should be and no, it is NOT the *right thing*.
It's a travesty of justice to deny justice to the victims of crime.
You are failing to do your job and do it impartially.
Im looking forward to seeing how it works out for the governor with his recent order to all state employees.
There is no such thing as 100% When dealing with people. There are absolutely some women who would be very competent. There are probably some effeminate men would could pull off motherhood, the thing is, they are rare.
I agree with what she wrote here. But no one is being sent to a concentration camp, unless one considers their country of origin to be a concentration camp.
That is NOT true.
You cannot broad brush all females like that, s there are plenty of us who do not operate that way.
And there are plenty of men, as evidenced by the democrat party, who are no better in their deception and corruption.
Most Americans have a law they do not agree with, or a court decision which they question. BUT we honor these laws and court rulings. Our internal enemies do not respect the country and actively work against America!
The only power judges have is to make judgements based upon the law. They cannot hire and fire Cops, or Bailiffs, or for that matter lock somebody up! Only the executive part of the government can do that.
So if a Sheriff/Marshall/ police chief tells his staff to ignore a particular judge they will ignore that judge.
If a judge chooses to circumvent the law by physical actions then that judge will be arrested.
It is not perfect but Judicial, Executive, Legislative
parts of our government have powers and responsibilities
that are well documented, to the people that pay them.
The people that pay them is us, the citizens.
Allegedly! Word of the month. Or decade.
A civil servant, drawing a paycheck, is refusing to do her job?
I have a solution for that.
In the private sector, we don’t pay people who don’t work.
