Russia on Saturday publicly acknowledged for the first time that North Korean forces are fighting on its side against Ukraine.

While reporting to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the situation in Kursk, southern Russia, General Valery Gerasimov praised North Korean DPRK soldiers for their efforts.

Gerasimov said the troops had shown “high professionalism, fortitude, courage and heroism,” fulfilling combat tasks “shoulder to shoulder” with Russian servicemen.

Following this admission, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that “Russia will never forget its friends from the DPRK.”

A "who read the article" question ---

Anyone read the Polish reprint of Reuters? The last states, "Reuters could not independently verify the battlefield assertions of either side"

Yup.

The present government of Ukraine, along with its predecessor, was elected by the Ukrainian people; it was not installed by outside forces

Desiring Ukrainian independence is not hatred of Russia. What I wish is that Russia would respect that independence and then we can have peaceful relations. This would also be best for Russia. Is the cost of this war really worth it to Russia? Peace would be restored if Russia were to give up its imperialist ambitions and accept Ukrainian as an independent country.

Where’s that large contingent of Chinese troops you reported a while ago?

Yes, under Trump who is still following the Biden policies when it comes to our military involvement. Withdrawing that support will effectively cripple Ukraine beyond repair. It is one of the cards Trump can play to force Ukraine to do what we want. It is called leverage.

I’m hearing they’re crack troops and acquitted themselves well in Kursk.

Unlike everyone else, North Koreans have no choice in the matter. They are modern day slaves.

US troops aren’t slaves like North Koreans are. There is no such thing as dissent in North Korea, nor any freedom of religion, nor freedom of conscience. They don’t get a paycheck from whomever rents them out- the money is paid to the North Korean regime. They are slaves of the regime with zero choice in anything.

It was a training mission. In Lithuania. Not special forces. Nothing was covered up.

One of the young men killed in that case was the son of a lady helping out a well known exotic bird rescue, it is no mystery. Just a good kid, not a keyboard warrior for an old corrupt Russian KGB officer.

We were VERY justified in going into Iraq.

We did make the mistake of letting the Russians have time to clear out of there.

The Russians had NO justification to go into Ukraine.

None whatsoever.

It isn’t any of Russia’s business what goes on in Ukraine no matter what was, or was not promised (not that Russia has ever abided by its treaties- it hasn’t.)...Ukraine is a sovereign country.
Russia is a sovereign country. Neither one should have any say on the internal affairs of the other. If Ukraine doesn’t take a neutral position so what?

Russia’s elections are no more legal than Ukraine’s. That is the business of their citizens respectively. If you aren’t a Ukrainian citizen then Ukraine’s elections aren’t Russia’s problem to fix. If you aren’t a Russian then Russia’s elections aren’t Ukraine’s to fix.

Ukraine didn’t threaten Russia’s base in Crimea. That is Ukraine’s base and Russia was renting it. As it happens Russia prefers to squat.

It isn’t any of Russia’s business what the ethnicity of Ukraine’s citizens are. If Russia was really worried about the safety of ethnic Russians there- and if those ethnic Russians there were in fear of their lives, there is something called asylum which Russia could have offered to those people, who were free to leave.
The truth is the Russians don’t give a damn about ethnic Russians or any other human rights issues or they would not be importing North Korean conscripts to fighting for theis territorial gain. Russia has NEVER been a beacon of hope for human rights anywhere. The only thing the Russian government is interested in is the real estate and especially the offshore resources.

“The Russians have far more justification to be Ukraine than we did in either Iraq war.”

You’re wrong about the first Gulf War. That was the right thing to do. Second Gulf War you’re right.

The Russians had far MORAL JUSTIFICATION in going into Ukraine than we did in EITHER Iraq war.

We fomented an illegal coup in Ukraine, installed a government hostile to both Moscow and the ethnic Russian population in Ukraine. We then trained, funded and armed a 600,000 man army on Russia's border while the Ukrainian nationalists running Ukraine sought to cutoff Russia from its naval base in Crimea.

If Russia or China had one anything like that in Mexico, WE, JUSTIFIABLY, would have invaded.

If China tries to seize access of the Panama Canal, we will, justifiably, invade.

The war in Ukraine is absolutely a result of our meddling in that country under Obama and Biden.

And, all of those actions absolutely violated promises made we and Ukraine made to Russia. We promised no eastward expansion of NATO in early '90s and expanded to Russia's borders. Ukraine promised to be neutral toward Russia in its Constitution in 1996 and violated that promise with illegal coup in 2014.

You're defending the corruption by the Obama and Biden regimes and Deep State. You're scum.
