Donald Trump: Vladimir, STOP!
mediaite ^ | April 24 | Donald J. Trump

Posted on 04/24/2025 7:30:15 AM PDT by RandFan

In a Thursday morning social media post, Trump wrote, โ€œI am not happy with the Russian strikes on KYIV. Not necessary, and very bad timing. Vladimir, STOP! 5000 soldiers a week are dying. Lets get the Peace Deal DONE!โ€

Trump had pledged to end the Russian invasion of Ukraine within 24 hours of being elected, but he and his diplomatic team have thus far found it difficult to broker a peace agreement with Russia and Ukraine, going so far as to suggest they will give up any efforts recently.

why should putin stop? hes going to win

Why should Putin stop? Ukraine hasn't sworn off entering NATO, the US is still supplying weapons and intel to Ukraine, and above all, London and Brussels have given the middle-finger to Trump and have said they will continue to fund and arm Ukraine.

There are problems that can be worse?

No, there are not. None. The most powerful force in the universe is compound interest — per Albert Einstein

We can’t even afford the chewing gum.

BTW it was the Russians that put down Hitler. Far far more German casualties at the hands of Russians than anyone else.

Right and thank you! Russian domination = The worst of the Slavs want to call the shots for all other Slavic nations. Russians don’t know best. They know worst.

Peter Zeihan says that one reason for the invasion was to increase Russia Slavic population. Which is 105 million out of 143 million, with abysmal birthrates. If Putin had succeeded, this would have increased Russia’s Slavic numbers by 43 million.

Situations like this always put Russian trolls in a difficult place. Do they support Trump, or do they support Russia?

Decisions, decisions. (Popcorn. Need more popcorn.)

You didnt answer my history question. If we had not paid the cost for WWII, would it have been worth it?

Your diversionary Russia anecdote is incomplete. Russia was 'allowed' politically to put down Hitler by being allowed to get to Berlin first. The Russians would have been in Nazi camps if it werent for US aid and arms throughout the war.

If the US had remained out of WWII, Germany would have overrun Europe, Russia, and north Africa, and they would have kept it. Then...

They would have gotten the bomb first and, by force or by threat, empowered the Third Reich on the entire western world.

“Some of us knew Putin would not stop. And we said so.”

Yep, after paying such heavy price to get into his current position, Putin not stopping when he’s finally in the driver’s seat unless he’s given what he wants. He also knows the EU is all talk and little weapons production and the EU will send no troops. According to it’s charter, isn’t NATO fighting an illegal war?

Donald Trump is "frustrated" with Vlad Putin. - (what a cliche word)

Thats a lawyer question, irrelevant to the problem. Any nation can make its own decisions about who its may support (or invade for that matter) and how. Of course, those decisions can have consequences.

Especially if the little TWOT installed as Pres of UK continues to behave like a little TWOT. US/TDJ walking away means no more $$ to skim and no more ammo. Uk will fall within the week of such an announcement.

The globalists will scream about another Russian deal (like the pack of lies the HilaryHag pushed that started ALL of this) and DJT will be smeared. And, Russia will get all the territories that were agreed to in Minsk years ago. The rest will be a ............. gaza-like ‘Ell hole for years — which will serve as a buffer to NATO expansion.

Win for Russia.

Point taken. Let me re-phrase: Seems like NATO is fighting a war without being attacked. I guess they can pretend they aren’t operating as NATO officially.

If sustaining 900,000 casualties (killed and wounded) to date is your definition of winning...let them have it. All that death and destruction, and for what? Nothing. It is past time for the US to pull all funding and all negotiations on both sides. Let the EU deal with it since they want it so badly.

So youโ€™re denying Russian Kulaks suffered like the Ukrainian Kulaks? Are you also denying Ukrainian Socialists took orders from the Soviets on their own people?

Its a matter of perspective.

NATO is not fighting a war right now. They are aware/concerned/monitoring a threat (Russia). Any responsible commander of any force would be negligent to ignore the world around him. He would also be remiss not to ‘shape the battlefield’ in his favor.

Thats a clinical way of saying that having a way to degrade a potential enemy force before it becomes the imminent threat is something to consider, and possibly support.

he is going to get what he wants. which, at this point looks like the whole or most of ukraine. if the prospect of ww3 was an effective deterrent, dont you think it would have worked by now?

No you don’t understand the numbers. History is defined by them.

The war was won at Stalingrad. The rest was mopping up.

Check the total casualty count at Stalingrad (now Volgograd) and be sure you include the German allied armies of Italy, Romania, and Hungary. I can save you the time. Total casualties 870,000 of just the German powers armies. Another 91,000 were starving and surrendered.

That was the magnitude of loss. Don’t try to salvage allied pride with claims of loans and money. It was trivial in amounts UP TO THE RELEVANT DATE. The total program is always quoted, again, to salvage pride. Not compelling. The war was over when the surrender was signed and those 91K already starving were force marched to POW camps, with no great improvement in diet since the Soviets similarly lacked food. Few of that 91K survived. They were already dead.

Bottom line, no country the size of Germany can suffer that magnitude of loss and continue a war. It was won by the Soviets.

There are problems that can be worse? No, there are not. None.

Aside from jokes by Einstein, there is one. Completely losing a war. No Americans except from the South have ever been through that. As an Alabamian, I know this set my people back 100 years.

Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan? We just walked away, with no ill effects to ourselves.

Utterly losing a war, so that the victors are your new overlords, is worse than a crushing national debt. Normally it means the end of your national identity. Ask the Indian tribes, the Aztecs, Incas, Saxon English, Gauls, Greek Anatolians, etc., etc. History is repeatedly full of this.

You diverted from the point, which was why did the US get involved in WWII. I respect the russians who died fighting Hitler, but under Stalin, russia was equally as evil. Germany may have overexteded itself on its eastern front even if it did not have a western front to defend, but without US joining the war, there would have been no Manhatten Project, no convoys of supplies to Russia or Europe. Hitler would have been unopposed and been able to bide his time on his schedule of conquest. And with a bomb that no one else had, he would have incinerated any opposition.

i disagree. russia isnt in ukraine because its ‘evil’ and ‘bent on world domination’. were this still the USSR, or China knocking over some country i might be inclined to agree but this is different
