Husband and I went on our morning walk and it did not go as expected. He noticed a small red light blinking at the wood line as we approached and we found a game camera, on our land, pointing at our house that isn't ours.
He cut it down (it was attached with wire to a tree) and is taking out the memory card as well as checking our home cameras to see when it was placed, but this is not good, husband is on the warpath.
...
So it turns out it was placed last night while we were at church and there's a picture of the guy placing it, Sheriff is on his way over.
...
And the Sheriff is here, and he knows the guy, a known offender against children one county south and he's on the registry. Husband said they can go arrest him right now for trespassing and child endangerment and breaking his parole and whatever else they can throw at him or we can deal with it, sheriffs choice. Looks like they're going to pick him up, which is the right call because I don't want to be a prison wife, but I'm willing.
....
I'm properly freaked out, our property is entirely fenced and he avoided all the cameras you can see by hooking wide to the west and coming through the swamp but my husband also has cameras you can't see in case someone wants to be sneaky and that set caught him as well as a good shot of his face from the memory card.
Its best to let the sheriff know to arrest that dude for his own safety.
Interesting that your husband has so many cameras. Interesting that the hidden camera had a blinking red light when it was supposed to be hidden.
I had that happen as well. Our property backs up to green space and horse trails. I found one 100’ into our property. I was going to cut it off but instead purposely got on camera giving a hitchhiking thumb.
It was gone the next day. I believe it was a neighbor across the street that is a bit too involved in other peoples’ affairs.
Julie is the author, not me.
The perp installed the camera
Bad people are doing bad things .
I think in low light conditions they emit a red light to be able to “see”. That’s one reason it’s so easy to steal game cameras. Some one just walks the woods at night and looks for the glow. My security cameras glow red at night; like a stove eye.
I hope they don’t live in NY State. He’ll walk.
Wow. So scary. Do you have children or children living nearby? Was that is target?
“Husband is on the warpath”
I would be too.
Now I will be on the look out for small red blinking lights.
Someone is casing their place…..and them.
Someone is casing their place, their kids, and them.
You know what stops this? Walk up to the camera with a 12 ga. Squeeze the trigger while pointing at the camera. After saying have a nice day.
Just a little wiff of grape out onto the fields is good. Trap shooting is a suggestion.
Eistein? Right?
Excellent situational awareness!
Now, I hope the scumbag is put down like a rabid dog.
I’m in a dark mood. Vivisecting the pedo would be enjoyable.
The Sheriffs apparently arrested the perp for trespassing, child endangerment, breaking his parole, and ...
I am not the author.
Go ahead make my day. :)
We all need to upgrade our situational awareness.
Julie did the right thing. I, on the other hand, would have pulled the chip to see if the perp was careless (which he was), then I would have dedicated a night to stalk him and wait. Gilley, Camo, Benelli Super Eagle II, comfy chair. No one else. Poop his pants time.
