HBO host Bill Maher opened his show on Friday by delivering a monologue on the details of his recent meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House. Read the full transcript below.
"So meet up in person, maybe it'll be different," Maher described meeting with Trump. "Spoiler alert, it was. First good sign, before I left for the capital, I had my staff collect and print out this list of almost 60 different insulting epithets that the president said about me. Things like: stupid, dummy, low-life dummy, sleazebag, sick, sad, stone-cold crazy. Really a dumb guy, fired like a dog, his show is dead. I brought this to the White House because I wanted him to sign it, which he did.
"Which he did, with good humor," Maher said as he displayed the signed copy. "And I know as I say that, millions of liberal sphincters just tightened. Oh my god, Bill, are you gonna say something nice about him? What I'm gonna do is report exactly what happened. You decide what you think about it. And if that's not enough pure Trump hate for you, I don't give a f*ck."
"I never felt I had to walk on eggshells around him, and honestly? I voted for Clinton and Obama but I would never feel comfortable talking to them the way I was able to talk with Donald Trump. That's just how it went down. Make of it what you will. Me? I feel it's emblematic of why the Democrats are so unpopular these days. He was even OK when I checked him on the orangutan lawsuit. He was. I know."

The reason why Bill felt more comfortable with Trump than Obama or Clinton is because Bill knew, and Trump knew, that Bill didn’t come there for the purpose of kissing Trump’s arse.
If that would have been Obama there would be no jokes or criticism allowed. One smart azz remark that didn’t go over well and Bill would get the Paula Deen treatment.
Trump is pretty well hardened to the attacks of the left but this dinner was at least a way to show that Trump is actually a funny, gracious, and nice person.
My favorite part of the whole night was we were standing in the [The Oval Office Study] and he said, ‘You know I’ve heard from a lot of people who really like that we’re having this dinner. Not all, but a lot.’ And I said, ‘Same, a lot of people told me they loved it, but not all.’
And we agreed the people who don’t even want us to talk? We don’t like you. Don’t talk as opposed to what? Writing the same editorial for the millionth time and making 25-hour speeches into the wind. Really, that’s what liberals have
The left is invested massively in dehumanizing Trump. Maher just undermined that message. He will definitely get hate.
Maher trying to be “that sensible guy” politically. He can’t go all-in with Trump but he understands what the Democrats’ 27% approval means (get away from them). I think he’s being smart.
I don’t want to have him say reasonable and rational things; they’re life rings in the ocean of stupidity the Democrats have wrecked their ship in.
Good metaphor .
Rush Limbaugh said about Trump that Trump went out of his way to make everyone feel like they were the most Important person in the room. Everyone, the staff, the helpers, the VIPs. Everyone.
They have this false image of the guy set up in their brains, pre-wired and ready to go full psychopath on a moment notice…
… And when reality, interrupts that, they’re just completely stunned.
It’s sad… But it’s kind of fun to watch too
Because Trump is a down to earth guy who loves to laugh and have fun..when he signs those executive orders and answers questions when he smiles I smile because he looks happy
Wise of Maher to visit the president.
Maher looks a lot like Huntz Hall While our president’s accent is similar to Leo Gorcey.
Trump doesn’t have to wear a mask, he is who he is. He can relax.
Liberals have to wear a mask. We all know people like that and can see through the mask.
The one thing I don’t get is how he could be surprised that Trump would bring up the fraud of 2020, unless Mahar genuinely can’t, or at least isn’t able to admit believing it ?? In that case he may have expected that was also part of the crazy persona. If Trump isn’t willing to commit to a formal investigation at this point he probably should do a better job of explaining what he does think happened. Either that or put out a link to the published peer reviewed studies that validate tens of thousands (or more !) fraudulent ballots.
I doubt it. He wouldn't be a democRAT if he was super aware or had good cognitive ability. Unless he was evil which I don't know.
Trump didn’t have Hillary investigated his first term either because the Clintons are basically “good people” (his words) and he realized what a distraction that would be politically.
When Maher says reasonable and rational things, it serves a critical function.
There are millions of people—despite being democrats—who retain the mental ability to accept the seed of truth. For some of them, it will in time destroy their religion made of lies.

Perhaps it's time to establish a new political party. The Liberal Party. They're in favor of the government doing more to help the American people but they respect that people have different point of views.
The Democratic Party is Marxist.
That USED to be the Democrat Party, no more. That is why my family left it.
Maher found out once you get past the propaganda the real deal shows.
Maher is a degenerate and a turncoat.
Nothing sincere or significant comes out of his loud mouth.
Maher made a list of negative things Trump said about him and then asked Trump to sign it. Trump probably could have made an equally long list of bad things Maher said about him. But he didn’t. Instead he graciously hosted Maher in his home.
Maher was surprised that Trump laughs. Really? How many times did Trump host Saturday Night Live? He’s also done several commercials and skits over the years, all with a humorous bent. People who’ve met Trump almost always describe him as funny.
Does Maher realize that his negative view of Trump prior to this meeting just MIGHT have been due to the media negativity about him, their refusal to report anything positive about him, and their twisting of his words?
The Trump Maher met with— that funny, easygoing Trump— is the guy his supporters have seen all along. It’s the guy we saw at all those rallies. At least Maher admitted it. I hope he opens others’ eyes, as well.
