Comedian Bill Maher revealed what surprised him most about his much-hullabalooed dinner with President Trump — as he joked that his takeaways may cause “liberal sphincters” to tighten.

At the outset of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher” on Friday, the eponymous host delivered a lengthy monologue about his meeting with the commander in chief that left him unexpectedly charmed.

“Everything I’ve not liked about him was, I swear to God, absent. At least on this night, with this guy,” Maher, 69, said, appearing somewhat shocked by his own conclusions.

From the article: Admitting that he went in with guns blazing, Maher described how he printed out a list of insults that Trump had hurled his way over the years, including barbs such as “sleaze-bag” and “low-life dummy” — to see if the president would autograph the digs.

“I brought this to the White House because I wanted him to sign it, which he did … with good humor,” Maher said, holding up the Trump-signed sheet of paper as the audience broke out into applause.

One a personal level, pretty much EVERY Republican president has been an extremely nice guy in modern times, and every Democrat president has been an absolute asshole.

...and that shows the power of the media to shape people’s perceptions...and SHOULD cause people to wonder what other perceptions the media has tricked them on, but they won’t.

On a related note, before covid if you’d have told me millions of people would mindlessly obey directions like you must take an experimental shot, wear a mask and stay 6 feet apart I’d have never believed it.

I never would have thought the American people could be compelled to do things like that without questioning any of it......so the fact that millions also believe Trump is some demon in human form doesn’t really surprise me.

While, to his credit, he admitted that DJT was far different than his preconceived idea DJT, his comments would be much impactful if he had that the the media and liberals have been and are still lying about DJT.

He should have enumerated that DJT is not Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, a fascist, a dictator, a racist, a misogynist, a sexist, a bigot, a racist, an idiot, lacks cognitive abilities . . .
