It may be setting the stage to eliminate voter fraud by illegals and scammers. Use this as a basis for voting and it can only improve the troubled and fraud-filled voter databases that fill BLUE state voter rolls.
I have a natural aversion to this sort of seemingly intrusive verification of names and federalization of data. But so much scamming has been going on in the state systems that they are untrustworthy in many places. Maybe this is the base move for creating a national voting ID to end fraud in elections.

In the absence of demographic data which either confirms or denies my suspicions about blue states somehow issuing Real IDs to illegals, this article is in left field.
Would you register all your firearms into a National Database because there are some illegal firearms out there?
This is not going to end up being a voter ID. And it is not going to prevent our ID’s from being fraudulently stolen. It is just another national database that can be hacked and data stolen. The more databases you are loaded into the higher the risk of having your identity stolen.
So we won’t register our firearms Nationally but we will register our own person Nationally? A license plate and passport to participate in our own country and access services we paid taxes for? No one sees the unconstitutionality of this? We are enslaving ourselves with our own radical extremism.
Cops always had their criminal work to do catching bad men, but they also knew that a huge amount of their cop work would be dealing with the natural drives of young males who when caught needed the stern word, or parents involved, or the big scary jail threats, (joy riding could mean joining the military if it was a good kid with too many wild oats) but race and feminism killed that and cops had to treat everyone by the book, a new book where the heart and experience of a grizzled cop veteran (and an ex-young man himself) were removed from the equation.
For bad guys, a billy club and jail, for rambunctious teens, a stern demeanor and an authoritative scaring.
Most states are offering two cards....Real-ID license, and a regular license. As you might imagine...cheaper license is the regular license, with Real-ID going for $20-to-$40 more (depending on your state).
However....if you go and buy the passport-card...$30....it lasts for 10 years. Economically, more bang for the buck. Also, less paperwork hassle.
“It’s the price of freedom.”
Needing a passport to travel within your own Nation is NOT “freedom”...
I’m sure most freepers know this, but Real Id (National ID card) is NoT mandatory. You only need one if you don’t have a passport and you don’t mind bringing it with you when you fly domestically.
The media doesn’t report that fact. Incidentally, a driver’s license is not really good ID; it’s literally just evidence that whomever’s name is on it has passed a driver’s examination.
"A. The Prohibition on Boarding an Air Carrier with a Concealed Weapon
In 1961, for the first time in aviation history, Congress enacted legislation to prohibit carriage of an accessible concealed weapon aboard an aircraft."
Guess it comes from watching an illegal alien pull 12 EBT cards out of his top pocket and carefully sort through them to see which fraudulent card with which fraudulent false ID he wanted to use for his purchases and then loading his haul into a brand new , top of the line 4WD SUV with Sonars , Mexico plates.
And then watching 150+ illegal aliens get escorted on a daily basis through the VIP line at TSA security with no ID at all and then watch them keep their shoes and belts on, not have to use the x ray scanner for their carry on and get ushered around the metal detector and nude scanner so they could fly to the destination of their choice with a free, taxpayer supplied premium priced airline ticket.
With all of them using their taxpayer funded iPhones to take pictures of themselves holding their NGO supplied SWAG bags with " lets go have fun" silk screened onto them in bold block letters so they could text the pics to their family and friends back in Guatemala to prove that America was the land of big freebie.
But we can’t put Humpty back together
TRUE. It’s problematic how Islam has altered our lives.
REAL ID was needed since Mayor Daley ran Chicago in the 60’s
YES
diversity killed America. That’s all there is too it. You can’t mix 3rd world people of different religions, cultures, and values together, and flood America with thieves aka illegals who are only here to steal from us, and be surprised at the results.
All because they decided in the 60s that ‘diversity’ and globalism were the false gods they were going to worship, now we have to pay.
If a state driver’s license isn’t valid enough to for it’s holder to identify themself for domestic air travel, the state shouldn’t be allowed to charge a fee for it.

You can always walk.
Real ID does not prove citizenship. It’s just a stronger confirmation of who you are. If you want to prove citizenship you need an enhanced driver’s license, which is currently only available in five states. The Canadian government views an enhanced driver’s license the same way it views a passport card. That’s why you can easily cross into Canada at land and maritime crossings if you have an enhanced driver’s license, just like you can with a passport card. If you want to fly into Canada then neither the passport card nor enhanced driver’s license will work. You need a regular passport for that.
My Florida driver’s license has a gold star in the upper right-hand corner and is “Real ID” compliant, according to Grok (X.com).
It is not even the travel that bothers me, because there are options. It is the “access to federal facilities”. There is absolutely no justifiable reason to force this. Government requires you to sometimes make a mandated physical visit to service facilities. Denying access to these federal service facilities for ANY reason is taxation without representation and completely unconstitutional. Technically that even means access to all post offices and postal services. It is overreach.
Bingo!
Noncitizens have been barred from voting in federal elections for at least a century. Since 1996, noncitizen voting in federal elections has been a crime punishable with fines and imprisonment.
It is unfortunate, even pathetic, that until the current Trump-Johnson effort, no enforcement has been deemed necessary. The danger resulting from the absence of effective enforcement was clearly foreseen.
