He told the court a drug expert was 's*** at his job' and said: 'If they were worth that amount I would be rich'
A drug dealer who was said to have been found in possession of more than £10,000 worth of drugs argued with a judge about their valuation. He was found to be involved in the sale of heroin and cocaine and had £4,000 in cash.
Adam Pritchard, 32, was found to be in possession of a drugs line phone which was registered to him and police attended his home in Cardiff to arrest him. He was asked if he was in possession of drugs and cash and he indicated to a bedroom drawer.
A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court heard the defendant was found in possession of 52.7g of crack cocaine, 49g of heroin, and £4,000 in cash. A drugs expert valued the street value of the substances at more than £10,000. F or the latest court reports sign up to our crime newsletter.
Police also seized a number of weapons including an Ekol hand gun wrapped in a towel and a canister of pepper spray. Pritchard was also found in possession of a plastic BB gun, a knife with black tape wrapped around the handle, and a Predator Rambo knife.
During his police interview the defendant claimed he was a drug user and consumed 3g each of heroin and cocaine daily. Pritchard, of Falcon Drive, Cardiff Bay, later pleaded guilty to three counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs, two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession of criminal property, possession of a prohibited firearm, and possession of a prohibited weapon. The court heard he has a previous conviction for section 18 wounding and possession of an offensive weapon related to an incident when he stabbed someone over a drug debt.
In mitigation Tabitha Walker said her client turned to drug dealing in order to support himself financially following his release from prison. She said the defendant made a "silly mistake", hopes to reconnect with his teenage daughter, and hopes to gain employment on the railways following his release from prison.
As they used to say out on the street, “That was some potinent shiite”.
Street value. You always announce
a seizure of drugs
worth a street value
of ten million dollars
or 20 million dollars
or half a billion dollars.
I do wonder what street it is
you’re buying your cocaine on,
because it’s not the same street
as I’m buying my cocaine on.

Value of illegal drugs....
A young man whose illegal drugs were stolen in a breakin at his campus room put the cash value of the drugs on his insurance claim because it was a loss of something he paid for. Police didn’t find it amusing and took it as a signed admission in writing.
Another of my coincidences. How many other FReepers were also listening to the song John Henry (albeit on the great Joe Bonamassa Live at Royal Albert Hall album) last night?
The Johnny Cash version is the classic though.
Old Charlie stole the handle...
The ekol only fires blanks. It’s what British criminals call a “frightener”.

The “experts” always value these drugs based on what they may fetch if they were sold by the trafficker on the street a gram at a time. It like valuing 100 lbs of coffee based on how much it might draw if sold a cup at a time.
I’m siding with the drug dealer on this one, regarding drug valuation.
