A young man whose illegal drugs were stolen in a breakin at his campus room put the cash value of the drugs on his insurance claim because it was a loss of something he paid for. Police didn’t find it amusing and took it as a signed admission in writing.

The “experts” always value these drugs based on what they may fetch if they were sold by the trafficker on the street a gram at a time. It like valuing 100 lbs of coffee based on how much it might draw if sold a cup at a time.
I’m siding with the drug dealer on this one, regarding drug valuation.
