I just found this amazing list of EPA grants that are in the EPA budget--one kooky leftist group after another.

Hopefully Zeldin freezes every last dime.

All these grants are free and easy money looking for a place to land.

They are NOT good ideas looking for help. If you had a good idea would you look to the govt for funding?

I didn’t see a one that was important to our future.

What is happening here is the government was borrowing money and giving it to leftist fronts so they could lobby the government to give them more money.

If President Trump had not intervened this could have been an infinite loop.

I looked at a few of the projects. Here is how 20M dollars is being spent.
It goes to Michigan for the “Coastal Resilience in Benton Harbor and Bridgman”.

https://www.swmpc.org/project.asp?ait=av&aid=67
The project scope in Benton Harbor is to better understand the extent and magnitude of current and future neighborhood flooding and to engage community leaders to develop a framework to implement green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) to address climate change and lessen impacts of increased rain events. SWMPC will work closely with the Sustainable Business Forum to engage community leaders and to provide training on GSI to community leaders.

The project scope in Bridgman is to advance the efforts of the Shoreline Resilience Committee which will include public education events, zoning ordinance review and recommendations and working with students to document changes to the shoreline with drones.

Here is one story—don’t know if it covers all of them:

Override slimes paywall:

https://archive.is/CmKhJ

Saved from: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/11/climate/epa-grant-recipients-funding-freeze.html

Excerpts:

“Dozens of nonprofit groups have been unable to access the federal government’s payment system. The E.P.A. hasn’t explained why.”

“In a statement Monday, the E.P.A. announced it had canceled $1.7 billion from “more than 400 additional grants across nine unnecessary programs.” These cuts, the statement said, came after “working hand-in-hand” with the Elon Musk-led Department of Government Efficiency to “rein in wasteful federal spending.”

“Lee Zeldin, the E.P.A. administrator, has embraced President Trump’s cost-cutting mandate, promoting his work with DOGE on X and attempting to claw back $20 billion in “green bank” grants, repeatedly referring to the money as a “green slush fund.”

Another 20M went to buying electric bikes so people in polluted area can use a free bike to ride to a clean area.

https://www.epa.gov/system/files/documents/2024-12/community-change-grants-program-summary-of-selections-december-2024.pdf
State/Territory: Indiana
Lead Applicant: City of Evansville
Statutory Partner: Welborn Baptist Foundation, Inc.
Application Name: Moving Evansville Toward a Healthier Future
Track: Track I
TIA Category: n/a
Amount Requested: $20 million
Summary: Residents of Evansville’s disadvantaged communities suffer from poor air quality, as the region’s low river valley topography hinders the dispersion of pollutants from traffic and power plants, wildfire smoke, and excessive heat that contribute to temperature inversions and air quality action days. In direct response to the challenges of poor air quality, this project will designate 15 “Mobility Hubs” throughout the city; expand the current bike share system with 100 electric bikes; electrify and expand the on-demand microtransit program; invest in publicly accessible EV charging infrastructure and install solar power at the bus transit facilities; and conduct a local EV public awareness campaign.

Wow. Thanks for posting. Essentially a grant to pay people for talking. Not a single substantive thing in support of the harbor.

When most taxpayers hear “project” and “EPA” they would at a minimum expect to see a real physical project that involved people don’t something to physical objects.

This project is to show other greenies how to ask for money for a project.

Here’s a waste of money going to NY to thank the Governor for all the lawfare.
There is a tiny creek in the Bronx that needs a million bucks for block grants.

https://www.epa.gov/newsreleases/epa-1-million-climate-resilience-grant-support-south-bronx-communities
“This critical federal grant, made possible by the Inflation Reduction Act I led to passage, will help the Bronx River Alliance, in partnership with Youth Ministries for Peace and Justice, convene a Bronx Climate Justice Task Force that will ensure disadvantaged communities in the Bronx have a voice in climate justice projects that reduce pollution, increase community climate resilience, and build community capacity,” said Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer.
